Angry Everything is based on your credit score....

We come to a day and age where almost every thing is based on your credit score. If you have good credit you can get almost anything you want including a job. If you have bad credit or less than perfect credit for whatever reason you are looked at as somekind of asshole. Little by little more emlpoyers use that unconstitutional right to deny you a job. I say fuck that! What does a credit score have to do with your qualifications for a job? Think about it my friends, it's a form of "financial discrimination....

One of the reasons your credit score is considered for employment is because it gives the employer an indication of how "responsible" you are and if you would use those same habits on the job.

Yeah it is messed up in a way how we've become a number rather than a person.

If you have cash, use it. I didn't touch not one credit card this christmas season.

I haven't used a credit card since 2003. I say if you don't have the cash to pay for it don't charge it. It's true it does indicate how responsible a person is to a cretain extent but it souldn't determin wheater or not to hire a person. Some of the most irresponsible people in my job have excellent credit and yet I wonder how these people manage to hold a job. I know this because they drive cars that are more than what they make in a year. Make many mistakes (job related), have poor attendence...

I agree. I think most large corporations should take a walk on the wild side and start hiring high-ranking financial officers with credit scores under 500.

Now even the Health industry has scores.
Dallas Morning News: Mortgage lenders aren’t the only ones showing more interest in your credit score these days – the health industry is creating its own score to judge your ability to pay. […]

The score is already raising questions from consumer advocacy groups that fear it will be checked before patients are treated. People with low medical credit scores could receive lower-quality care than those with a healthy medFICO, they argue.

Your life usually isn’t at stake when a credit report turns up something negative, but in this case it very well might be. To some extent these types of decisions have already been being made by some hospitals, like when they just dump indigent patients on skid row, but this can only make it easier for other hospitals to make similar decisions for even more people. While a person’s overall credit score is largely based on voluntary purchases which one typically has some control over (assuming there isn’t an error), health care debt is largely involuntary. Even someone lucky enough to have health insurance can suddenly find themselves overwhelmed with debt they cannot afford through no fault of their own. A study two years ago found that “34% of U.S. adults ages 19 to 64 face problems with medical bills or have medical debt, although 62% of those individuals have health insurance.”

So, what do you think will happen once the hospital finds out your “medical credit score” doesn’t measure up?

Yeah I edited some parts but what if hospitals based care on ones ability to pay.

Use a good credit card for your every day purchases. Pay it off every month. Mo Money. Mo Credit Score.

It's just another form of discrimination. REDLINING, when certain individuals from specific communities are targeted-denied credit, housing, service and employment or higher interest rates. I had a neighbor who comes from a wealthy family who never pays on time and behind in all of her bills. She was able to get an apartment with extra bad credit and utilitiy bills in the $3,000's. Usually if you owe more than $100.00, PGW and PECO will shut your utilities off within 10 days. How did she do it, her mother paid the realtor $3,000 to secure the apartment and it helps that they are all Jewish. It depends upon who you are and the color of your skin. How many times have I heard, "I just recently got divorced that's why my credit is bad. Or somebody stole my identity...those debts or student loans aren't mine. The best one-They have the wrong SSN on my credit report." Give me a damn break. The reality is, the individual with the "bad credit", is the individual who most likely needs employment so that they can get out of debt.

At one point in time you could not get on the Police force if you had bad credit. Their belief was, if they hire you, that officer will most likely be tempted to take bribes or rob drug dealers because they need the money to pay off their debts. I guess they relaxed the rules...they're so desperate for police officers, their taking people with records.

It is essential to know that having good credit score is important. By having good score getting unsecured credit cards and applying for loans is much easier. Our credit score is a big deal. It's amazing what a profound effect of a three digit number can have on our life.
