    College Savings Plans Question

    reading up on the 529s but is there something out there that doesn't have residency requirements? any similiar plans for non-state schools?

    I have 529's for my three. From my understanding, it can be applied to any school. The tax advantages just fall under Illinois tax laws. Each state may have their own "Bright Start" program which falls under that states tax laws.

    ok...I dug deeper and found out it's basically a tax shelter for college tuition that can be applied to any insitution. Not just limited to state schools I believe.
