    Neil Gaiman "American Gods"

I like fantasy...no doubt about that. This book was fun...seems that the european immigrants brought their deities with them at ocean crossing, the Africans brought theirs...but America had it's own supernatural forces...

But gods survive on and are fed by worship...as their worshippers dwindle, they weaken. Cool premise.

Funny notion: modern deities like the Internet or the auto are well fed...somewhere in the text, the car gods are described as sleek, powerful and well fed from all the blood sacrifice...

Nice plot. Fun ideas...esp if you like mythology...you will spend time trying to figure out which deities are which...one of the lead characters is named Wednesday...anyone know which god that would be?

    Not a bad read

Gaiman has done great work for years
As for the charges against me, I am unconcerned. I am beyond their timid lying morality, and so I am beyond caring.

He's funny...and sometimes, I really need funny. He also does great comic book work, some of which is quite dark, but I love it anyway...

I just, after all this time, loaned this book to a very close friend and am enjoying her occasional comments via text message. I think I'll re-read it while on vacation...
