Anyone remember Second Phase's "Mentasm"?

This track more or less made me an offical techno head. I never heard anything bugged out like this cut in my life. This was also when my friends began to think my ass was weird.

Then "Dominator" was released and all hell broke loose.

There was another cut that started out with some guy saying "Coming on strong with the strength of a Hurricane" and this sick ass sound used in DOminator and Mentasm began to play.

IMO these were the good techno tracks, the rest was garbage for years to come.

I remember the first time I heard that track.

It was early '90's at Alcatraz in Chicago. They would play all this Erasure, Depeche Mode and Anything Box stuff as well as some industrial (mostly stuff they played at the first Medusa's).

I remember they stopped the music and announced some DJ named DJ Sneak. I remember his name because he worked at this record store called Hip House records. He started out with that track and played all this hard ass techno.

Everyone went ****ing wild! Afterwards, a lot of DJ's tried to emulate that night.

Sneak threw down though.

It was a good night.
