Yea so I watched the Sex in the City movie this weekend:

And the effect was astounding as I live in the city, and after viewing it made me not want to have sex. I may not be able to get it up for like a week?

The great moments were the two “cell phone as dramatic prop” scenes: the one where main character being stood up for wedding, in a ghastly fainting spell drops the cell phone, the slow-mo shot following it as it falls from her hand then down to the bottom of her gown to floor. And then the edge of the beach scene where she tosses her old phone into the sea, splash!, gone, heartbroken removing all contact between her and her past social life.

Ha ha ha, when you’re symbolizing extreme emotional states of loss with a friggin cell phone, you know that the end of the world is coming soon…

Well the male counter would be movies like Ocean Eleven, buddy movies for dudes in exotic places and circumstances and suave and thwarting the world, to gather around movie screen and voyeuristically jerk off to.
