    History in the making

We don't know many folks still alive who can talk about the Great Depression, but we are witnessing our own version of an historic financial meltdown and some appellation will be applied to it, like the Great Recession.
Whatever it's called, we are going to live through it and it will change us and the world.

Are you scared? Will you fall into your own great depression? Do you see a silver lining?

All of us will be changed by the events happening now and how each of us and the world deals with it and learns from it, will determine whether we have a better or worse future.

unemployment rate during great depression was at 25%.
our unemployemnt rate is about 6-6.5%.

are we really living something similar to the great depression?

ive been choosing between my bus pass and groceries. its real. i sold the caddy thinking i was gonna be able to jump in another but financially its gonna have to wait. ive seem to have been better off without the car anyway. so i just spend the extra money on clothes and shoes now. i might be broke but at least i look good.

    Wink

No work houses, no corporal punishment etc etc etc

I think the spoilt cunts of today wouldn't last 10 minutes in that world.

They'de be putting in Health and Safety claims, and would have a lawsuit against the workhouse.
