    Anyone using waveburner

    for normalising your tracks.

if so, are you using any of the mastering plug-ins before you burn your files to cd?

I was fooling around with it last night/morning and tested out some vocals with the dance music enhancer plug in. What a difference. I'm hearing stuff that you couldn't hear before.

    thoughts and/or experiences?

Man,give a cat some more info on this.I heard about a possible program,I believe that it's called platinum.I heard that it can normalize more than one track at a time.

I'm looking for somethign that will do such without so much time involved.

Thanks for bringing this up P.

    J,

This app is part of the logic bundle. I'd like some feedback from some of the board members on here that use it.

Quick and easy to use. highlight the region (song or songs) and you can check for clipping, if it finds it it will fix it, normalise it and burn, all in like 10 - 15 minutes tops.

My boy and I were fooling around with some of the plug ins last night, there is so much you can do with it (this is what consumes alot of your time, trying to find the right plug in for what you want it to sound like). I have the disc and threw it in my car (but I won't be able to tell until I play it on a real system, may have to take an early trip down to elevation and test them, hehehehehe).

Talk to Kenrick. He can tell you more on Platinum. I believe he uses it quite often.

**also, I am using all of my vinyl transfers and then saving them to my comp as a .wav file and then redoing the mastering on the app** I haven't tried this with MP3's from online sites (yet). Maybe this is why I'm getting/hearing all of this extra information from the songs when using the different plug ins? don't know.

'mastering' tracks you bought or your own productions?

keep in mind, if you're trying to 'master' stuff that's already out there, like some tarck you just bought on traxsource, you're probably making things worse...lots of stuff is already overcompressed and poorly mastered, you can't undo that, see all the 'loudness wars' articles on this topic...so when you use softwware like this to master again, you're just making things worse...you're taking away even more dynamic range and introducing more garbage...

Negative Chris, vinyl transfers. (but keep in mind that I'm experimenting with all of this, its new to me)

example, I took "not like crazy" and recorded it to cd, the track was muffled man. I mean, muddy. did the basics (clipping, nomrmailsed it). . .then I threw the dance enhancer plug and it sonded sooo much better.

but like I just posted, I heven't done anything with an MP3.
