Kbig, I am sorry for your loss. From your writing on here about her, it was clear that your grandmother played a very important part in your life. RIP

You are lucky to have had her, I did not know any of my grandparents.

I had both Gmoms in my life. BIGTIME.

this is my maternal Gmom. We moved with her when I was in Grade school and was there with her until I went off to College!

she was my 2nd mom ... even when I didnt want her to be.

She showed me how to PARTY .. honestly she entertained alllll the dayum time.

Me and my sister were free labor during her "Club Meetings" !

Its because of her that my mom was able to go back to school get her degrees, its because of her that I got to go to Peabody, Goucher and Alvin Ailey schools of dance.... She carted me to ballet classes when my mom couldnt... taught me how to make the best Shad stuffed with crabmeat, and how to drinK!!

when she caught me drinking my GrandDads Potato Wine she didnt tell my mother she just told me to stick to beer !!! lol

Please accept my condolences. Reading about how your grandmother insisted that you to not only help her with voting from her hospital bed, but assist others lets me know that she was quite a gem. And yes, you get it honest...you come from wonderful stock.

I wispered in her ear that she helped elect the first Black Prez... her eyebrows when up and down and she shed a single tear. That was her only "response".

Mannn her in the hospital giving out all of MY OBAMA pins to errybody in the hospital was priceless. Have her tell it Obama was her ill legit Kid.

I know it's hard to know that she's gone...but you can take comfort in knowing that you were the DUTIFUL granddaughter & there for her when she needed you. I can only imagine her stirring up the floor with the voter registration drive.

i don't know you but my condolences.
i just lost my stepdad...well soon to be stepdad a few weeks ago. he didn't make it out the hospital in time for their wedding.

i also watched him take his last breath whilst my mom was holding him and her completely losing it.

there's nothing more i can say, but be strong!
