Maybe just looking "too ethnic" for them? You don't look like the average "bridge & tunneler" (just made up that word). It's crazy how we call them "bridge & tunnel" people but yet we party with Jersey folks all the time and consider them our equals.

I don't have any inside information but personally I think if and when Shelter comes back I think it will be in a different location but that's not the point of this response. I'm surprised that no promoter has yet to use Shelter's absence as an opportunity to fill the void. Instead of waiting for Shelter's return why don't some promoter take the opportunity to create a party that fills its void?

There's a breakfast/brunch restaurant in Columbus, OH (was there this weekend) that had waterless urinals. Smelled MUCH better in that bathroom than in those with normal urinals. Some kind of blue stuff in the urinal. First public restroom I've been in where I actually took in a deep breath - lol - VERY fresh-smelling.

    getting a venue
    A) on a saturday night
    B) the size of Shelter
    C) in Manhattan
    D) with an amazing soundsystem
    E) that will stay open until noon Sunday
is WAY TOO MUCH work for 99% of NY house promoters, especially when you factor in that your crowd brings their own empty water bottle from home in order to drink from the bathroom sink for free

True but I also think this scene thinks too much in terms of bars and clubs and not in terms of alternate venue although those cost money as well.

I just can't see them (Greenhouse)boasting about bamboo floors or whatever and then letting folks put baby powder on them. I hope I am wrong, truly.

I got there early around 10:45 and was somewhat of a line not to pick put people were piling around the blocks. Def had to do with my look as everyone else was dressed up to impressed and i was with my "look" lol.

Funny part is i use to go to their parties every now and then when it was at SOL lol so i guess the rules for the party has change.

On a side not this was MADE IN ITALY party not exactly a Greenhouse event but rented out to this promotion group. So who knows.

How do you know theyre not Myron?

It's not about filling a void. Nobody can replace or replicate The Shelter.
The scene is also very different now to 10 years ago.

The nightclub biz is constantly evolving and I'm sure other events will come along very soon!
