tickets and the internet

The Specials reforming for a few special dates. 30 years after the coventry band started. The venue closest to where they started is the birmingham academy (used to be called The Hummingbird). Venue holds 3000, and there's two dates, so 6000 tickets went on sale yesterday.
As it's a friends birthday aswell,lots of us between 38 - 47 y.o planned to go, alas no.

Sold out with 2 minutes

then moments later tickets appeared on ebay etc priced between £75 - £150
IMHO, it would have been ideal if a small number of tickets was sold at venue, so the internet touts couldn't get them, and to ensure some local people are actually in attendance in their own city.

Oh well, ho hum.
