DHP Chicago Update: Lets try this again

got a pm from serge informing me that the event at spot 6 has been cancelled. the owner has replaced them as promoters on saturday nights without prior notice. they found out by walking into the club (last saturday) prepared to play and someone else was on the decks.

i asked serge to find out if they can do a final event this saturday. waiting for his response.

So did anybody go to or come up with any alternative spots for Saturday night? I'm going to The Hollywood East and The Big Horse tonight.

I hate to do this, but as a reminder if things don't work out for Sat. there are two other parties to attend that night that also feature some of the other dhp members...

Those two events might be a nice alternative as well both parties are represented by some cats that are on DHP.

So why not just direct people to one of these parties and ask the promoters can if we bring the party to their venue?? Sounds like a simple solution. Have someone outside of Spot 6 letting them know the party has been moved.. Damn it sounds like I'm repeating muself.

wow! now we're talking! rich, you should probably cancel plans to go to those other spots tonight. sounds like there are some alternatives.

here's the latest:

i've been talking to george bates who has been a tremendous help. he spoke with the owners of "guest bar", formerly, aqua and blonde (lake and halsted). they are interested in having the event. need to talk details with them.

but, it sounds like the soul phonetics party offers a nice alternative with the discount and it's near spot 6 thus making it easy to redirect people.

thoughts?

All this sounds good to me. Maybe we need to already be lining up a venue and DJs for the next one. You know kinda stay one ahead.
