so are you all for the mixing of other races just as long as it is not Black and White?

how about Black/Puerto Rican? does that one work?
or what about Pakistani/ German? is that one ok with ya?

why does shit always have to be Black and White with folks?

a lot of men are violent with women partners and it also goes the other way.

some *men* might want to learn how to better handle their emotions and vice versa.

not dating "white" women isn't going to keep "black" males out of jail..hell, not committing crime won't even help!

This a thread in itself. It may sound silly, but I suggest Lustresilk curl activation. A little bit twice a week works wonders. Yeah, it's a little greasy at first, but read the bottle; it's full of hair food. You don't need a lot. Spritz it on, rub it in good (massaging the scalp) then comb and style. It strengthens the air and moisturized the scalp. Try it.</font>
DO NOT... I REPEAT DO NOT PUT NO CURL ACTIVATOR IN A LITTLE GIRLS HAIR. NO, NO, NO. YOU ARE GOING TO UPSET THE NATURAL CHEMICAL BALANCE OF THE NATURAL OILS IN HER CURLS.

LOOK, WASH THE GIRLS HAIR AND DEEP CONDITION IT... USE A DETANGLING SHAMPOO BY CREAM OF NATURE... THEN FOLLOW UP WITH SOME QUEEN HELENE CHOLESTEROL CONDITIONER... THEN ADD IN SOME ST. IVES THERAPHY CONDITIONER... COMB THE CONDITIONER THROUGH ....

YOU CAN DRY THE HAIR NATURALLY BY BRAIDING THE HAIR IN LARGE PLAITS OVERNIGHT.

KEEP THE HEAT OFF THE CHILD'S HEAD... YOU WILL BE ABLE TO COMB THROUGH HER HAIR WITH EASE. ALSO, 1 DAY OR 2 AFTER A FULL WASH, PLEASE OIL HER HAIR WITH A LIGHT OIL, TRY TCB OR ALWAYS NATURAL SUPERGRO.

</font>
Sorry Ms. EFab. but I've been using curl activator for years and my hair, which had always been problematic, has never been stronger. I'm not suggesting that she give the child a Jheri curl, just that she used the activator, which does not alter the hair shape or chemistry at all.

I always, ALWAYS had short hair growing up. Breakage, dryness and so forth. In the eighties I started wearing a curl and using activator. I remember my mom talking on the phone with my aunt when I came in to comb my hair. She stopped in mid-sentence to say, "Cynthia, Melanie's putting her hair in a pony-tail!" I'd never had enough hair to do that before. It was my hair dresser who told me how good activator is for your hair. Using it every day can clog the pores, but using it judiciously can be a blessing.

I've been dredded for almost 3 years and I activate about twice a week. Works great. Keeps my locks soft, soaks right in, takes no time at all and promotes growth like nobody's business.

I know activator has gotten a bad rap over the years. It can be messy. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for anyone with a perm who needs to curl their hair. But if you're not wearing a curl, you don't need much to reap the benefits.

Look:

What does America owe Brown people? The freedom to attempt to preserve our cultural heritage. Something many Pink Americans have systematically and effectively destroyed. At the same time, the right to seek out relationships across the color spectrum which is another thing we have pink people to thank for. Because of there shameful acts during slavery, they helped to create in the Africans who were brought here in servitude, a totally new race of people. One that can identify and has ties to every other race on the globe. I feel that as much as on American brown person (man or woman) can try to maintain the integrity of the brown race, I am afraid most of us are trying to preserve 4-5 generations, at the most, of genetics that spent more generations than that with questionable lineage. Even then the various tribes that made up the slave workforce may have never intermingled had the Africans brought to this country been left the hell alone. So the mere fact that we in America identify with each other as “Black” people, are labeled “African American”, or deal in reality like I do and regard themselves as what we truly are “Brown People”, shows us that we are a new race. Very few of our ancestors were free from some level of cultural mixing. However because the society we live in still categorizes people by race, and we cannot get far enough past our differences and desires to have the world reflect our personal ideologies, there are still folks who will take offense to two odd toned people walking down the street in complete bliss.

The points of view that I have been reading have been very narrow-minded. The cut and dry argument of “Black and …whatever, leaves some really important questions unanswered: What does bi-racial people do? Only date other bi-racial people? And if so how many generations removed should they be before they have to find someone with the same percentage of …, see where I going with this?
I have arguments for and against each side, for each race, and each gender. However I will address one side, one race and one gender: black males for white women. I have never dated white (pink) woman before. In grammar school I had a major crush on a very pretty girl who happened to be white. Too young to act on those feelings that opportunity came and went. The next time I was even remotely interested in a white female I was fresh out of high school and she was engaged to someone so no chance for extra-racial exploration there. So the gamut of my experiences has been with black women. In them I feel that I have realized what it was that I had been searching for in a mate: some one who I could relate to and share my experiences with. This is why I do not regret not having dated outside my race. I do not want some one who would sympathize with me and the culture that I identify with, because I don’t need sympathy. I wanted some one who shared my culture and had a keen sense of awareness that we do need to move beyond our tragedies and support each other.

I am in a very loving marriage and we have a wonderful well adjusted (albeit selfish) child. We are both very much in touch with our Brown American reality and are striving to do the best we can for our family and ourselves. However, at some point our child will have to be made aware of the variance in race that she inherited from her mom’s side of the family (four generations down the tree) and the possibility of the same from my side (there were some pretty light members of my family too). What should I have her do?

Many of the people that are in my life that identify with the Black, Brown, or African American cultures are not visibly one generation from Africa. So weather we want to admit it or not, the Black people in America are a truly unique species. So that interracial couple that you see walking down the street may not be what you perceive on the surface. It is quite possible that they both have a little common genetics. Next time think about THAT before getting angry. You could be looking a two Black people.
Music is the way I live.

I find this post very insulting, just because they were arguing!! EVERYBODY F*****G ARGUES SOMETIMES. Anybody in an interracial relationship is going to be appaled by this post. Any relationship involving any race, creed, or colour is upto the individuals involved, and no f***er else.

We're all different PEOPLE. What works for one may not for another. But we are ALL people, and we all deserve the opportunity to be happy - alone or in a relationship, and regardless of anything as superficial as skin color.
