I only use reason, reBirth and a microphone.
I will say that Reason did it big times for me, but you really have to get into tutorials and books to avoid getting bored due to lack of creativity.
Plugin each and every device to each other is the way to go, try layering also, and don't forget to use reverb and decay as primary effects.

Did you buy good speakers? It really mades a huge difference in music production.

And then, my little thing is to have a little voice recorder to save my ideas of basslines, rythms, cause when you don't record in a way what you're wiling to do, you can't analyse them and foret the original idea when working on it.
If you have a good rythm in mind, just sing it and record it. Open it up in some wavelab or audacity and see how it can be done on the redrum device for example. You'll learn a lot that way.

    Good work!

Also, if you have some musician friends, try to catch someone explaining to you the basics of a drumset, and the fundamental rythms they learned.
You will then get a full view of what is a 4/4, what is a hip hop beat, how to build a jazz rytm, and all.

Very interesting and less tim consuming than analyzing by your self.

What I did at the beginning was to convert my Disco and Funk tracks from CDs and look at the rythms breaks in Peak. I learned a lot that way about transition in the rythm section.

Reggae music is also very solid in terms of bassline programming and srtucture.

    Wink

からくり?A段?N降?C技?gを応用した介?o用?C器としての?A段?N降?Cは、前回の?A段?N降?C作?Iで安全装置の取 り付けが?K了しました。

Reason is great because it teaches you the fundamental basics of a studio, like signal flow, patch routing, programming, how to use the basic functions on Synths..etc. once you have a great beat going, I would rewire it into Pro Tools and take it to the next level.

Pro Tools Ignite/Power/Overdrive book series can help you immensely with PT.
