How did their band sound? That bass player is holding that bass a little too high. Shoulder problems will develop (trust me, I know). She must sounded good, though, with that Fender American Standard P-Bass (Fender P's are heavy instruments) and SWR Workingman's amp.

    the bass player and the other singer are the daughters of the lead singer...the drummer and the other percussionist are her sisters...another sister and cousin who were part of the original band went on to do other things...

    esg sounded fantastic and FUKK!!!! they made me feel really, really good to be a black woman...they sounded extremely fresh and kept it up for the entire hour...the drummer played so hard, i KNOW she was the best drummer i have ever seen in my life!

    oh, yeah...did y'all notice esg members took their purses on stage with them?

    i think the men of liquid liquid were really, super-excited about the turnout...they were SO excited!

    why is it that the lil' ravers are becoming more and more rude? what's all this "can't we just get along" bullshit? i had about 4 actual run-ins with the lil "white" kids that could've been blood matches...they truly appeared to be salty that black folk were attending a black music fest...

    exactly...and it didn't even have to be that way...i just felt really sorry for them to feel that they have to jump on someone else's tip and resent them for it rather than create their own...

    on the other hand, i could've gone for a boxing match - it's been a minute...

    Actually, I'm just a little swole that I musta missed EVERYONE from dhp who was there. On the other hand though, I was wandering around Hart Plaza in various states of inebriation all day sat and sun. I left monday afternoon after seeing Shake in the Music Institute set. He played my buddy Shawn Rudiman's cut "Live Alone" and the crowd seemed to dig it.

    Also, I saw a bunch of those "I'm FUNKIER than you" shirts. I should have picked one up.

    Oh well. There's always next year. Hopefully.

    Rickey remind me not to be cordial to anyone they may be mistaken for my wife again. Lisa is a nice young lady but she isn't my wife. Please refrain from referring to her as that. I don't think your husband would appreciate someone saying that about you. I was not conversatin we did not exchange numbers we were talking about the music scene along with Discogoddess that does not make her my wife please retract that from the photo G-Man.

    i find nice teeth to be a very attractive feature.
    teeth are actually one of the first things i pay attention to (after the face) if i see an attractive female.

    Do you really think that was the general vibe at the DEMF? White kids hating black people cause they invented "techno"?

    I have yet to hear this from any other black person there.

    </font>
I did miss them.

    I find it hard to accept Ms. Rickey X as a credible source of anything considering she made up a story about a married man on this board and could have seriously damaged his reputation by claiming he was hooking up with some female and getting her phone number. That complete fabrication obviously caused a serious problem for this individual and it completely invaded his privacy and his home life. What did she get out of this? Who knows? How can one take her opinions seriously?

    Please point me to the direction of your comments.
