Agreed, I used to have an unhealthy obsession with this track.
Not sure about those glove puppets in the video
Me too...lol..I was about 11 playin' at this kids-Disco, and an older DJ had just bought it, and to hear that LOUD for the first time..the sound on that 12" had power!!!...blew my mind. ...co-sign on the puppets...haha.
Those girls are Scottish, had a few hits in the UK, like Patsy, very "Smash Hits". They used to come into the fabric shop my girlfriend worked in as a teenager and buy cloth and ribbons for their silly outfits.
"From the ominous shadows of Goth suddenly appeared two young girls in polka-dot dresses, flaming red lipstick, and hair ribbons. Looking like the brides of Robert Smith, Strawberry Switchblade made a brief splash on the U.K. charts and then abruptly vanished in the mid '80s, leaving their fans with a handful of collectible singles and one LP of deceptively sweet-sounding dance pop."
You did remind me of the UK magazine called "Smash Hits".
I was in junior high school in a local town in Japan, too young
to go to discos... it cost me much cuz it was imported
but I used to buy that magazine in early 80s.
