I know. 1986 I was so into this album. So raw of a sound. I never liked anything by them since.

1986: 11th grade! And yes I had a black trench coat.

Saw them at the real 9:30 club in DC. Never bought another album of their's.

Awesome to see "Insecure Me" posted up as one of the first songs on this thread -- my favourite Soft Cell song for sure! The instrumental that precedes it on "Non-Stop Ecstatic Dancing" is great too (called "A Man Could Get Lost").

How about this one? Might have been more of a hit in Canada...

EDIT: And of course, you could have fun mixing with the Extended Mix version of another Canadian synth-dance classic...

the late 70s & 80s were the bomb the new wave/the club/the pop & R&B was funky everthing had a groove way 2 many quirky characters the birth electronics in pop music ( sio I guess the machine & human balance found itself) as far as race was concerend the more we found that so & so was white back then who gave a fuck as long as the shit made us groove ( must be the whole listen 1st being taught 2 respond 2 the audio factor) and clearly the britts new wave-ish punk or otherwise were imeresed in R&B and Reggea always gave thier music funmkier soul feel & yes while these sounds were marketed 4 the white there isnt black kid who bought music who didn't buy this stuff back then 9I-I here here & and all dem dead dudes we praise in these parts)
man know 1 had to tell me to like the clash or the police or blondie or thompson twinz or yaz or english beat etc... shit was just dope the pop had more undeground & what ws undground back was buck bananas!!! and this is the pioneering stuff 4 everything happening or not happening now as we see everthing is going back to lot of his era glad I caught the 1st time around
