I don't want to make this something it isn't but I was disturbed by two comments made by Martin and Mark in relation with the content of this post. It was their assessment of todays music which unfortunately describes a current fad in Black Oriented R&B and it was not incorrect. It was also their assessment of the previous posts which were caled "quality" (which i didn't necessarily agree with). The disturbing thing for me was that the previous posts were all by White artists. I'm pretty sure there was no racial intent in their statements, but I was disturbed nonetheless. Just wanted to rant carry on.....

You know I thought about this issue too as we were posting. Well first, I am a child of the 80s and I have no regrets in loving New Wave and all that. This was the music I grew up on, and quite a lot of the artists were white.
But today's music, that I qualified as shit, is certainly not limited to black oriented R&B. It is Brittany Spears, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers and all the other shit. In fact, I personally see R&B, and certainly hip-hop, as something else than pop music.
Hope this makes sense, but I do see what you mean.
