The Sex Pistol are pop???
interesting observation, 80s on the heels of the 70s explosion of soul music, disco, etc and a real division between rock and roll and black music, 80s start of the mtv era where black artists were not allowed on the air until mj's billie jean and soon thereafter hip hop becomes the dominant cultural force...
I am probably alone in this, but I LOVED A-Ha's followup single. Not as popular as 'Take On Me,' but I dug it.

A guilty pleasure ... wasn't until I was older that I learned she was a comedian!

Another followup track that I enjoyed more than the original which made her a hit.

I shouldn't like this ... but I do!
"There are no uninteresting things, only uninterested people."
When I was 14 or 15, I didn't look at music that way. I was a kid in East Africa vibing off grainy VHS cassettes of Top Of The Pops and swapping Prince records with my mates. There was no MTV. I didn't even get into Hip Hop until '87, when I came here. And it's only from thereon in that music began to be more than just a pure, fun thing.
...
Great thread! Here are some for the collection.

I remember myself clubbing with that dude of the Confetti's.
He always came as an act, one time he had a combat uniform on, next week it was a police uniform... and the only thing he did was standing still, after one hour or so he just changed his position. Dude's crazy
Rumour is that he now has some serious mental issues. He became people shy?
