if you make money from music..

and manage to do it for a long period of time then you are blessed and in a minority!

Anyone who has had success in the past should have a back up plan.
Put money away for the tight times.
Even in good times the shelf life of many artists is very short.
It is very rare for an artist to have a full time career in the buisness for LIFE!

Yeah its tough when people share and steal your work but no-one can stop what is happening
Have a Plan B in place or change the way you make the money.

I support music I have been in the buisness as a retailer for many years.
Can i do it today? Hell No! I had to get another job. Does this stop me making music Djing etc, Nope!

Just another side of the coin

Roll with the punches. Enjoy what you can.

The halcyon days of House are over and the biggest problem I can see is a distinct lack of originality. Most of the output now is tired and a lot of the tracks that get the biggest praise on here are the ones that "take it back to it's raw roots" or that sound "retro". Things aren't really moving forward. Do we need to remake an already rich back catalogue?

...and a lot of the people who complain the loudest about music being stolen, not making money, are the same ones that are quick to boast about banging the latest bootleg/edit. All I'm really hearing is "I don't mind shit getting jacked as long as it isn't MINE." House lacks integrity.

So true, how many poor productions, parties & dj's that get called amazing today is just beyond belief. One thing is being positive, another is being realistic about originality & genuine inspiration.

There's too many people or clicks of people with hidden agendas, that's what I find really tragic.

As you say though, you just gotta roll with it. It was never perfect.
