For me, It's books and a hardware synth in my lap.
I may well go check that book anyway need to find it in a store so i can thumb through it before i purchase

Highly suggest getting your hands on a good hardware synth if you don't already have one and you have the money.
ive been looking for a guide like this about adsr envelopes, of course wikipedia to the rescue!
