I'll be honest, this isn't the sound I'm personally into but it does sound good and it builds up nicely. I could see where dj's into more of a euro house sound would like it.

Is there something specific you have questions about?...or, were you just throwing it out to see how people react?

Thanks Ashwell! Any kind of feedback is appreciated. It is always nice to know what people think about the track in generally but especially I want to know about the production quality. How well it is mixed/mastered? For example I just can't get the bassdrum sound good, I think it sounds too dry now.

But anyway, feel free to say anything that comes your mind when you listen to this

My speakers at works suck but from what I can tell the mix sounds pretty good.

The kick seems a little intense or too present. But, that might just be my ears. I tend to like kicks that are lower in the mix. I don't think it's too dry at all though. In fact, I like that the track as a whole isn't too over-effected.

You also might consider creating more variation on the bass line. But again, that's a taste thing. You seem to know what sound you're going for. It reminds me of a lot of early to mid-90's detroit inspired techhouse.

Take it easy, my work just eased up a little so hopefully I'll have some new tracks to share soon.

Hey man, I like your track, got a good nice groove to it. Reminds me of some freerange records stuff. The production sounds good level wise, but some of the stuff sounds a little too filtered to me. Like, the filter is too closed, or the cutoff isnt steep enough or something. Maybe it's just me though. Also, it starts to meander a bit towards the end, but for the most part it stays interesting. I'm curious though, how did you make the synth sound that comes in at 2:26 and sticks around for the rest of the song. Sounds like some percussion hit thats got a lot of effects and delay on it, or am I way off? Anyway, keep up the good work!

I got really inspired by the Dogglounge radio and wanted to create a deep/techy/minimal house track succeeded quite well. I have to that it's not easy to make simple track like this and still keep it interesting all the way. About the kick, dry wasn't really a good word to describe the thing what is in my mind but it could be a bit lower and more punchy or something like that. Maybe I should change the sample and/or layer more kicks together.

I'm not quite sure what you mean with the thing that it's too filtered for you. I tried to keep the track interesting by filtering the main synth in different ways. The synth you are talking about is made with Reason's Thor synthesizer so there is no percussion in it. Just some saw synths and effects.. I was just fiddling around with the synthesizer and somehow came up with that sound

You might want to dig through some old threads on this board. I remember the question as to how to get a good kick coming up multiple times.

It sounds like you're using Reason. If you haven't already you might want to try adding some compression and eq to the kick. If you're using a Redrum you might also play with the length, pitch and velocity..and yeah, layering kicks is a pretty common way to beef things up a little. You can also make a kick out of any of the instruments in Reason. I've turned to the maelstrom and the subtractor a number of times for this. You might even try adding a tiny bit of distortion.

wow. i like it. i would dance to it.. definitely run to it. it's driving and has emotion.

it starts off slow, but i guess it's a build up thing. it became interesting. maybe it's my speakers, but it sounds like a good, quality mixdown. some of those highs seem to jump out at me - crisp.

you can't beat a sexy breakdown and you did it twice. i love breakdowns.. wish they would come back. i don't hear them often.

don't know if your question was only for djs and producers. i'm neither. these were just my thoughts off the top. i haven't yet read the other posts.

I use Redrum always and tune the lenght/pitch of the samples but I think I should use more compressor and eq with the samples. At the moment I'm just too careful with the compressor because I'm not quite sure how I should use it.

Thanks for your feedback! It's always good to hear what "normal" people think about it After the point I started spinning records I just haven't been able to enjoy DJs sets so much because now I notice their beatmixing mistakes etc. and now when I make my own tracks I'm too jealous to other people because they make so great tracks and I'm not able to do the same things they do :D

Smok, this is good stuff,
to be honest I prefer the kicks in the 1st version, and haven't heard any change in the bassline in this second. The 1st version has a better audio structure, every sound fits well into the track. The 2nd vers. is less audible. I'm listenning on M-Audio speakers, good ones and at some 80W volume, clean sounding.

The mixing is very good, the sounds are great, this track is more than allright, a really good track!
I'm not sure that I would had more percussions, maybe a little one for more punch.
The progressive build is good, too long for me but babe I like it raw, so congrats!
