Funny i would think that not allowing too much of a certain group into a party would make it fabulous.I mean think about it,a great party is one that has all different ethnicities, sexual orientation, and genders in it.Wouldnt it be kind of dull if it is all black, white, gay, too much women, too much men?At a certain point as a doorman and or a promoter things need to be balanced out. This is one of the main reason why many parties are dull as 20 year old knives, not enough diversity. Its the same crew at every party.

both...remember the Kiss My Black Ass party use to be in that room (after moving from the front room) and there was nothing wrong with the system. Hell, Webster Hall been at that location and doing parties for umpteen years with their system.
I love a good system as much as the next person, but let's get a grip here.

Shelter (Chicago 1990-'98) was a prime example of this. Eventually, everyone got shade at the door but originally, it was black men. A friend of mine used to bypass that nonsense by bringing a few records with him: "I have these for the dj..." Instant access-for a while, I refused to go.

the main room. sunday shoutin was in the other room if i remember correctly. don't know about body & soul.
don't forget it's sting AND shorty. this is no joke for them. this is serious business. if anyone lost time & money it's the shelter music group.
webster hall losing a few dollars (speculation) during a time slot that was nonexistant is like the average joe tossing spare change to a homeless person.
what's really disturbing is the protectionist rant by jd. that bothers me somewhat that the b&s crew would not step to the plate for smg when they certainly benefitted from their involvement. considering they both once shared the same space i think it's a tragedy. some unity in the community. that's just mo.
