Huh? John just said that, in his experiences, he hasn't seen any racism at the club. How is that a "protectionist rant?"

What do you mean by "step to the plate"? What do you expect John to do, exactly?

no need to step to the plate if nothing shady happened
no need to jump on the racism bandwagon if JD knows from personal experience that that is not the case

    buisiness is business
parties usually get booted when they don't make bar numbers
or there is too much drama (fights or other shit that puts the club at risk)
rarely is it anything personal, as money mends fences in the club world

webster hall losing a few dollars (speculation) during a time slot that was nonexistant is like the average joe tossing spare change to a homeless person.

If it really was about community, you wouldn't shit on the same spot that someone in your community still has events at,regardless of what went down between you and the owners.

hate to do it, but, just because there is a race-neutral reason for a particular action does not mean racism was present

what kind of money was involved with the sound system. everybody is talking bar numbers but nobody is discussing the dynamics of the sound deal.

if i had to guess, i'd say this is what it's all about. can't come to an agreement on money so both sides walk and blame the other. pure speculation, though...

How does this make it okay for you to shit on John (who has done, and continues to do, such great things for NYC nightlife)?

You talk about supporting each other in this community, then go on to do just the opposite.

We really don't know how it all went down, but when you release blind ass press releases,it creates a ton of speculation and drama.

I've been in places where the numbers didn't make it and have been kicked out for it.I still didn't cry racism, because it's really about business.

Now,if more info comes out, then we may be able to get somewhere, but for now,it's just pure speculation.

I believe the better question is, why dump all that money and hard work into a place that you do not own? or in a place that has no real interest in you? And then leave the system there to be used every night?

I hope the lesson to be learned here does not go unnoticed. Sometimes we have to be real with ourselves.

    I hear you

but I'll take the word of the guy who always acts professionally and is one of the only mother fuckers with his shit together (doing this house shit correctly, on a large scale in NYC) over anyone who puts out some cryptic drama-filled press release just to start some internet rumors
