There are some great events out there. However, if we want to step to the next level we gotta be on some next level type shit.

NYC nightclubs want money. And they arent talking about "a bottle of water w a twist of lemon type" money. They're looking for "2 bottle minimum but I can make one of them champagne (cuz obviously you aint real ballerz)" type money. If they can't get that why bother opening the doors? Most of the workers, managers, and owners have families (barely) and can only excuse being away from their loved ones cuz they know that they can work a shift and get PAID.

Too many of us are into "the love"

If I want love, I'll put more lotion in my fist

I'm not sure what you're asking here friend? Do you open a bar or pub because you want people to dance all night? Do you have an event at a dance club because you want people to drink all night? Sound to me like a problem from the start.

WH will never see another dime of my money, I don't give a rats hat who's spinning there. I'm not asking anyone to agree with me just letting you know my experience. And before it gets started lets put the bullshit about not supporting the bar or whatever else to rest because I've been to the party on Sunday and folks supported the bar plenty. Again I'm not asking anyone to agree with my experience. Go there for yourself this weekend and let us know what your experience is.

As far as I'm concerned Webster Hall can kiss my entire Ass!!!!!
Dude if you were there please speak on what it was that management did or how they conducted themselves to cause this situation. This was a reason for this thread for someone who EXPERIENCED it to get the chance to speak out.

I'm also surprised at the willingness to characterize the deep house crowd as a bunch of cheap, whiny cry babies who dont understand how "expensive" it is to run clubs and parties. I'm not saying that there aren't people out there like that but I think too many people are painting the deep house crowd with broad strokes of that brush.

I'd like to see a listing on here of how many deep house promoters in NYC
    A- Own their own space
    B- are doing "private parties"
C-Have loft spaces we can go to.

The points raised are valid but my freinds if it's true that nobody wants this crowd then doesnt that cast some doubt on a lot of the noise about the deep house crowd being a cheap non drinking crowd?

Regardless of what anyone wants to believe about Webster Hall if you agree that no one want's this crowd" then I'd say check the writing on the wall and look around. Promised Land may not be the last party to go... from places that CLEARLY do not want "our " crowd.
If we're gonna agree that this sort of thing has a long history in NYC and it's not new then why the shock, doubt and disbelief when someone raises an issue that we know to be true?
In the end we're all entitled to our view point, which is how a forum is supposed to operate.
I am not saying to accept it...far from it....I am saying to recognize it. I have always been for taking this shit of ours back underground...but most who try it have no clue what they are doing and it's not even worth getting out of bed for.

As much as it may hurt, the truth is folks/bar owners/club owners don't want our crowd, and we continue to fight for acceptance from these fools. If you truly believe in yourself and your following is that strong, find a warehouse in Sunset Park (3rd avenue even) and do the damn thing! This was what drove us to Flushing Avenue and Behind Club Doors.

Roy, if you go back in history, every party that has been successful in our time has been when folks got pissed off at the establishment and took the party off the beaten path and make it work.

Like I said nothing new. We just have to recognize it for what it is. And, to speak directly to your "check the writing on the wall and look around because it could happen elsewhere", if area code should close down or turn their backs on us, I am ok with it, and will be ready for it because when you take stock, it's just a fucking party...plus if it's that serious, I'll go start my own. I stop taking folks at their word and I have start to look a little deeper and question shit and not just get lead to the slaughterhouse like sheep.

clubs make money off booze which is why a non-drinking crowd partying during non-drinking hours is probably gonna face some resistance from club owners.

This is what separates the real from the bullshit

Folk talk about being about house but they aren't willing to put any skin in the game (however they will come by when the deed is done talking that "put me down" nonsense. Yeah. I'll put you down alright)

    Sheesh

at least housemotherdiva actually invests her dignity in keeping this shit going. 99% of these cats are all talk

because everybody want the glamorous looking nightclub and want to belong.

meanwhile, nothing more embarassing to a promoter than a big, beautiful empty club at 2am. This is the point when you wish for that empty, raw basement...not as embarassing or costly.

If you had been at the parties you would have observed individuals drinking, and once again the non drinking thing is an easy excuse for other things. If you have first hand knowledge of the WH Sunday party that's a different story but I was there.
