yano, what i think is happening here probably happens with a lot of musicians and producers. they don't make as much money on a track or album as they think they should, or get jealous that folks aren't scrubbing their nuts hard enough so they try to blame anyone who they think is stealing their shine, even if it's the very people who support and spread their name. bitterness, greed and jealousy. same old shit...
London and England in general is NOTORIOUS for bootlegging, chopping, editing, sampling, remixing, and white labeling. Whenever I think of Pirate Radio, I think London, the only place I have read about with an extensive Pirate Radio broadcast. I am not singling out the British because bootlegging occurs in many places but since Billie mentioned the British: Class A (two English guys) did a track back in 2000 "Your Love is What I Need" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbLMFnzuyEo that sounds curiously similar to Clyde Alexander and Sanction's Got to Get Your Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1C4Wo6PKZc. Another curious point, the label on Class A's record says written and produced by Jeremy Sylvester and Paul Emanuel. I never knew where their sample had come from until I happened upon Sanction's song many years later. Bini & Martini (Italian dudes I believe) ripped a disco sample for "Best of Me," released on Azuli, and to this very damn day I still don't know who is the original artist behind the sample. Although I would love to know. What about Layo and Bushwacka's Billie Jean? haha. Basically Michael Jackson's song re-edited, RELEASED and SOLD on vinyl. I thought Ministry of Sound puts out annual mashup mixes because white label mashups had become so popular that the superclub decided to cash in on the phenomenon. Yeah, bootlegging doesn't happen in the UK. hehehehe!

"It sucks but, don't blame Billie. She just told you info that he didn't."
Chick should stick to singing, and stop tryin to be a mouthpiece.
If I buy a car, and decide to modifiy it (after warrantee of course), that is my right
If I decide to tear apart my pc, and upgrade the internals, that is my right
And the manufactures of the products cant do a thing about it.
I bought the so called "Limited Edtion 12" (which i think was a gimmickl) and I am going to make a few changes so I can play it as feel. Since I purchased it, and whatever edit I do is not for profit, it is mine to do with as I please. Period.

You're blaming the customer, StudioConfessionEnt.
If you are seriously a rep of Peven Everett, you should be FIRED....lol.
You're currently in the process of losing a huge demographic that BUYS Peven's music.
What are you not understanding here?
Yes, some chop it up, mix it to their liking, etc.... Know what - GET WITH THE TIMES. That's how it works. I can understand getting into legalities if someone is SELLING Peven's music without authorization, but you're stooping to an entire LOW level here.
Artists hating DJ's. Most artists in this scene DJ for their performances.
Without the people on this message board and similar forums, etc., Peven's music won't sell. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. If you don't understand that then you need to get your ass booted from the music industry and find another field. Please & thanks.
DJ's (particularly the House music kind) gave Peven his popularity. He has talent and a good sound for DJ's to work with. Without DJ's, Peven Everett wouldn't be able to sell his music, period.
And to finalize things, "the misuse", as you say, of Peven's music is one your most powerful promotional tools...... What good is a carpenter if he/she doesn't know how to make woodchips?
Quit ruining a beautiful thing, and a bulk of Peven's sales.![]()

just do your job the way miss billie and peven tell you to do it!!!
If you aren't sure how to do your job as a dj, before you leave the house to beat the damn box that night, make sure to contact peven or one of his label reps, and they will tell you exactly how to do your job, the way they see fit!
Should i edit?
Should i play exclusive remixes?
Will peven get mad if i play the instrumental, and blend another accapella over it, or vice versa?
Am i allowed to pitch a song up, or pitch it down?
How long should i hold a blend on a peven tune before he feels like i have compromised the integrity of his song?
Can i layer a drum machine over it live?
Can i loop the break on a reel to reel?
Am i allowed to make my own acetates?
Should i announce the song on the microphone to the crowd and shout out peven's website so people know where they can purchase his blank cd's???
These are questions only miss billie and peven can answer!
Now go do your damn job you filthy djs!
