If the intent was to establish lines of communication (a worthy endeavor) that certainly failed. Thing with communication as opposed to an assumed position of of authority over another is it listens, it does not just tell. P.E camp needs to understand reality before they can start trying to dictate what people do in their own lives with the things they purchase. P.E's people have put nothing on the table, they are just telling Dj's what they can and can not do, while a Dj knows damn well it doesn't matter what they say, they can do what they want. Why should I voluntarily comply to some one that loathes me and frankly does not understand what I do at all?

its a bit hypocritical to scold a DJ for remixing and editing your music without consent and/or rec'ving royalties for it then in the same breath you are booked (money spent to promote the event you are headlining) ... given monies in advance in some cases and your band makes it to England or Miami but YOU DONT? or youshow up Maaaaaaad late to a gig... and you establish a reputation of being a no-show, unreliable, tempermental, and an overall bad investment from a promoter/venue owner POV.

Because it is not a requirement.

I am sure some DJs may even consider doing this with artists, so long as the artist came off the right way, although this does not seem practical given the amount of work that already takes up a DJs life.
