never fails, that an artist or any big name comes on here and gets their hat handed to him, once they reveal some personal aspect its on, but, thats how we do, hell you and i have eviscerated each other time and time again, these guys are not the dhp vets that you and i and jmj are, and clearly fail in the pr department

Until "StudioConfessionEnt" is handled in a professional manner, perhaps many here don't want to support such a person making money off their (house) music.

I am sure some DJs may even consider doing this with artists, so long as the artist came off the right way, although this does not seem practical given the amount of work that already takes up a DJs life.
lol, as opposed to an artist's? c'mon man, both parties have an obligation to come off the right way

I'm sorry... but Peven has been in this game for way too long for this kind of excuse. He has been handled by very professional PR in the past (I had a nice lunch with him and his press rep at ABB Records years ago).

Saying that he is more ignorant about how this industry works than JMJ or PWW is ridiculous.

He chooses who he surrounds himspef with in his business dealings. And he (apparently) knew what she was saying on this board, and allowed her to continue.... using his company's name.

If this were any other company that had come to this community and said the shit they did, the boyscott calls would be loud and clear.

    True

The biggest difference, you guys arent customers.

If I were to walk into a room and call my biggest customers and most knowledgeable and ardent fan base "bitches", "losers", "Over the hill" and other names in the most vitriolic manner, I'd be out of work by 5pm.

    and thats the double truth

They know exactly what this board is and they CHOSE to come here and bring long knives to gunfight
As for the charges against me, I am unconcerned. I am beyond their timid lying morality, and so I am beyond caring.

Business people (or those masquerading as such) just can't get a pass for not handling their business properly. We've got to stop giving them passes or making excuses for them. It's not our job to teach them or coddle.

They must've failed at attending class as well.

Folks like StudioConfessionEnt don't know what they're doing and shouldn't be in this business. A business that is suffering, mind you.

There are much more effective ways of voicing concerns in a business manner. This was a complete joke......lol.

What a difference a day makes, and it doesn't surprise me. The words "professional" and Peven Everett shouldn't be in the same sentence. I saw first hand that guy's ego in action a few years ago. We were playing an event, Peven shows up forty minutes late for his scheduled slot, high as an orbiting spacecraft, and tries to demonize me for keeping schedule (after he was accomodated with the same amount of performance time had he showed up on time.) I created a thread about the whole ordeal and his sheeple had me for lunch for doing so. Now, barely three years after that situation that same ego has reared it's head towards DHP.

Yet, anybody with two brain cells in the music industry (or any industry, outside of professional wrestling), knows not to do that shit.

    DHP ain't that unique.

Public speech as a company has some pretty standard rules. Studio Confessions Entertainment broke all of them.

maybe but it's not so different from any message board populated by the hoi polloi. as a business or public figure, you just can't get down and dirty with individuals on message boards or in big crowds. many just want to start shit and nail a big pelt to their wall. there is nothing to gain and everything to lose...

But it is not a requirement. That's a key fact in this discussion.

So Djs doing things the "right way" is entirely up for debate.

You are part of this culture too, and already know about the advancements of disco, house and hip-hop culture came through the work of the DJ, doing things with pre-recorded music that it was never intended for.

Peven puts his work out there. It gets touched up by Djs. He doesn't like it. So he joins the ranks of artists who didn't like remixes of their work. People continue to dance in clubs, and life goes on.
