What a difference a day makes, and it doesn't surprise me. The words "professional" and Peven Everett shouldn't be in the same sentence. I saw first hand that guy's ego in action a few years ago. We were playing an event, Peven shows up forty minutes late for his scheduled slot, high as an orbiting spacecraft, and tries to demonize me for keeping schedule (after he was accomodated with the same amount of performance time had he showed up on time.) I created a thread about the whole ordeal and his sheeple had me for lunch for doing so. Now, barely three years after that situation that same ego has reared it's head towards his fans.

In all seriousness - He's a decent showman and has some nice tracks

Outside of that, he's eminently forgettable - and, obviously, has just himself to blame

There's a reason why minor leaguers stay in the minor leagues (i reflect back to cats like Richie Adams and Loyd Daniels - so much talent, but in the end, the world spun despite them)

they already earned it through the things they do well, make music, now if you want them to earn your online dhp respect, that is a different story

Earned = past tense

Now that we're all painfully aware of how they feel about us, you can throw any past earning of respect out the window.

What am I going to spend my money on today?

James Brown was probably the most illegally sampled musician in history. And you know what his views were? He was not salty about it. His views were that these rappers using his music exposed an entire new generation of folks to his music. He was happy that his work was bringing kids to his music.

A serious miscalculation has been made by the Peven Everett management team as to the weight he can throw around even in this small backwater of the music community

It was a totally benign thread, complimentry even, until they got here. Somebody saai, offhand, that they don't buy the CDs because they have received some blanks (they buy downloads and vinyl, instead).

Then the company comes back with tirades about edits, online mixes and how much they hate DJs and this board.

When somebody is telling me I need to check with them before altering something they did, playing it in a mix, wiping my ass with it, etc., I'm thinking maybe there are other less stressful or restrictive choices I can make.

Especially after I've already paid them and am not looking to profit from their work......JMJ
