Although I hardly hear the attraction in much of anything musically by Peven Everett save a couple of tunes, "Sexy Makeup" being one, I respect the success he has earned. It's quite obvious that people love his music. He's been instrumental in creating an audience for for live dance music in Chicago; that's accomplishment. I don't doctor on his music, nor do I feel the need to align myself with the tide against him for these are funny alliances-you never know when the group will be coming for you.

I look at it like this...

This is such a small niche genre. Anything an artist can do to get his work noticed is a plus. If this means someone doing an edit of your work...so be it. I'm honored when someone thinks enough of a record of mine to edit it. If they think they can make it better..then ..Please..by all means do it!! In these modern times your records are now seen as business cards. There is not a whole lot of revenue to be made from sales. So whatever you can have done to expand your profile whether it's in a printable or audible format is a good thing. As your other forms of earning potential revenue depend on that. Long gone are the days of worrying. You just kinda keep it moving and you don't dwell. Doesn't mean someone won't catch a beatdown for booting an original. But a bootleg rmx? Fuk it....go and make me more money son!

Uhhhhh HELLO???? This is going on right now with mainstream radio airplay and has so for a very very long time!!!!! The labels would grease the palms of the Disc Jockey to get airplay for a record. Why? Because it helps their artist reach a wider audience which in turn generates more sales for the label/artist.
