But when I've seen PE perform, it's only been the house-oriented stuff that he does. I'm not pushing him into that corner.
so the rnb and neosoul cuts are not dependent on house music djs, right?

I WAS on my Blackberry (that new Bolt browser is only so fast) at the time, lol. I was also deejaying and pretty drunk.
I was wishing I had some Peven Everett on vinyl to play last night. Those Williamsburg hipsters would have loved that! They were high-fiving me for playing MGMT and Q-tip. Playing some Peven would have added another dimension to the night.

    Now where's DG's perspective?

WOW, this was def i think bigger than the Lil Louis thread. I had no idea who peven was prior to the song on a blaze cd from west end records, the track i think was called "THATS HOW MUCH I LOVED HER" or something like that. I really liked that song, then i heard Stuck, thats my story and i was a fan. But i always thought he was a house vocalist i guess not.

So let me guess this straight he plays and makes music, the house community discovered him thanks to the re edits and stuff and all became fans, etc. And now him and his company are hating on ya/us because of this?

And if that really is him typing some of the things hes written i think he needs to come down his high horse. He mentioned "his blessed gifts" how many times?

I NEED A BREAK lol, im going on another message board to read lighter stuff for a few hrs.

Only to the extent that house music dj's actually play their music in it's original r&b or neosoul form, which is rare. House music dj's usually only play r&b or neosoul tunes that have been remixed or re-edited to a house format. I know more hip-hop dj's who play neosoul and r&b artists than house dj's.

    I love Pevens Music.
I'm a Huge fan and I admire the way he's pushing Dance Music in a Concert Setting.
I understand the artist Values of His/Her work and not every song need to be edit for reasons unknown.
What i've seen over the years... a Dj is a Dj's worst enemy and the Murderer of the Artist.
I wonder what would some of ya'll say if that was GU or Frankie Knuckles speaking out?

Interesting question. I think GU has been on here several times regarding different things and Frankie has posted on here as well. I don't think either would have the equivalent of Miss Billie speaking for them though.

    (lurk mode off...)

...I never cared for Pevan's music at all-unimpressive to say the least. The remixes I've heard of his songs are the only reason I've bought and played his stuff at gigs because they are always better than his originals.

I am very thankful for this thread. After reading the entire thing and seeing the reactions of him/his people, I will surely not be wasting my hard earned money and time at gigs supporting him by buying and playing his music. And I will be sure to share all the information in this thread to everyone that I have turned on to his music over the years.

    Thank you.

Ok, I can only do 15 pages of this without losing the will to live, so I don't know if this has been covered somewhere in the other 22.

"Miss J" wouldn't happen to be the same Peven superfancrackpot who gave us similar rants in these thread (under the name Janet J) -

If she works for Peven, then he is one sick Artiste (and I don't mean that in a good way.)

If she is just a crazy stalker fan, the he needs some fans with a normal outlook on life...show the man some love.

I'm amazed by how much a thread like this can affect my love for someone's music.
