    Bullfighting... take a stance.

    I got the bull's back.

This dude got what he deserved:

    From the comments section:

Wounded, bleeding bull defends itself against its torturer.
Torturer is hospitalized and is in serious condition, bull is slaughtered."

Ish this is a topic I feel very strongly about. I saw one bullfight in Mexico and that was enough. It is disgusting and in inhumane. It needs to be totally banned (fingers crossed the EU will someday).

This is one cultural legacy that needs to die!

I would always root for the bull (not that I would ever watch bull fighting)... in the case of rodeos, I root for the bulls and horses.

Back in 2002, I saw bullfights at the main bullfighting venue in Madrid, Spain. I am kind of split on this. Those bulls are bred to die in the ring. No different than the beef we eat everyday, really. On the other hand, it is a brutal, bloody, barbaric way to die.

The Spaniards loved it though. And if the matador sucks or makes the bull suffer needlessly, the crowd gives him all kinds of shit. And those fucking matadors are fearless.....

the meat is often donated to orphanages or other charties, but real bullfights are still brutal. a tradition i wish didn't exist.

watching leonard's video was interesting....watching the people get theirs was entertaining...the only time i felt bad was when the two bulls hurt each other.

I'm a hunter and proud to be one.

I bow hunt because I think that guns give me too much of an advantage over the prey (though I carry a pistol as a backup for personal safety).

Institutionalized bullfighting is a joke because the bull is often wounded or otherwise hampered, before it's sent into the arena. Nevertheless, this is a poor animal being harmed and possibly killed simply for the entertainment of the masses.

I've never let an animal that I've hunted suffer any more than needed. I purposely use a high draw bow for quick kills. I hate assholes who purposely use underpowered bows or low powered rifles so they can have the thrill of "running down" the animal.

I'd like to take them out to a field, shoot them in the side with a .22 and then chase them down as their lungs fill with blood. See how they'd like that shit....

What I hate worse than bullfighting is bull riding in American rodeos. How would you feel if somebody tied a rope around your nuts, constricting the hell out of them? And then they put an asshole on your back and make you go run around in an arena. You'd want to go and kick somebody's ass too.

But to answer your question Ish, I'm against it.

I respect that KragShot, the hunting bit. That's my main issue with Bullfighting, it's intentional torture of the animal.

Do I eat steak? Yeah, every once in a while. And I try to buy free range shit, organic, anything that might be indicative of said animal having a somewhat "normal" life and a as-quick-as-possible death. However I am not going to sit on a pedestal of correctness. I just see bullfighting as so completely ass backwards... and yes, I've seen them live. disturbing.

You want to get applause and prance earound the ring like a macho twat, I am gonna laugh when you get a horn up your arsehole.

Also, aren't alot of the bulls drugged or tired out before, so they are not at their fighting best ? I read that a long whilst back.

I'm against it, but it does exist due to the blood hungly nature of humans, it wasn't that long ago we were feeding christians to lions afterall.

I don't get how folks against bullfighting have attended live bullfights? I mean, was it the bullfight itself that turned you off to the practice, or were you against it somewhat before you witnessed it with your own eyes and the live experience sealed the deal?

I mean, I don't have to stick my nose in bullshit to know it stinks. I shouldn't have to attend a bullfight to know its some cruel shit.

No doubt. I was young, it was with the fam... But I know a guy who recently had to go to Spain for work. Didn't know much about Bullfighting. Some clients took him to one and he was hesitant, but the situation made him feel he should go. Said it fucked with his head, disturbed him.

On that note, here's a great joke for you. It goes like this:

"A seal walks into a club..."

    Jokes over.

    Ya, no kidding.....lol.

This is a tradition that we as people could do without! However, some people just need to witness torture to get over their own pain's & sorrows.

there's just something off-putting about telling people they have to end their traditions because we don't like them. You know people out there think we're a bunch of assholes for wasting all of those pumpkins around Halloween?

    It goes full circle.....

    I agree.

I'm not telling them to end anything, however, any tradition that involves pain & torture just doesn't seem ethical to me. I will speak on that.

"Tradition" isn't an excuse for inhumane behavior. Throughtout history, many, many barbaric "traditions" have been ended through cultural imperialism.
