    Tender young Alice They'd say....
    Come over and see me........
    Come over and please me....
    Alice it's my turn today......
Have you noticed how society and the media are kinda sending a message that it's okay and cool to have girl on girl stuff displayed everywhere?? We have gone from Father knows best to those Bud Lite commercials. America has (in my opinion) has left nothing to be desired anymore. Sex sells is an understatement but when the exception becomes the rule then.... what's next. The suits in entertainment are men for the most part and seeing women half naked being put in semi - lesbian situations where kids can normally view this is going way out. I dare them to put men in homo situations or have half naked men prancing around seling products. There would be a lot of insecure men that would be in an uproar. Is this turning into some Caligula type shit here or what?? Even like those party pics that people post showing girls kissing and hugging and some of those girls aint even lesbians... they are imitating something that has been portrayed as being cool. And guys are eating that shit up but they say they aren't with homosexuality.

At least Caligula (little boots) liked the idea of men prancing around naked and pawing and kissing. He was bisexual but loved men better.

You won't see a whole lot of male homosexual situations in "mainstream" media because that's not what straight men will admit to as a turn-on. On the other hand, for some reason men find lesbianism tres erotic. I don't get it, but...

I'm more concerned with the blatant images of children having sex. I'm not talking about kiddie porn, but the suggestion that it's okay for 15-16-17 year-olds to have sexual relations is very disturbing to me. In the real world I have see that they are simply not ready for it. I even had one 17 year-old girl tell me she was ashamed that she was 16 virginity. Most of her friends lost theirs at 12...TWELVE!!

it has become sickening, devasting and destructive to society..trust me, we will pay for this at some point and time...and not in a good way...some of us are beginning to see how destructive this type of media lynching can be to our families and communities..

there is no end to the media ... i think it's just a matter of time before we begin to see male homosexuality on tv and in advertisements... if he is a consumer, why shouldn't he have the right to see images of himself being represented in the media ..

Well I have heard 8-10 year old boys talking about sexing somebody. It's the images that projected to them. It's up to the parents to keep thos images out of their children's eyes.Yeah, you can't protect them 24-7,but keep that negative stuff away from them and install some self respect.

Have you ever seen two men kissing on W & G (other than that one silly gay pride ep)? Even taking that one ep into account, have you ever seen anything on the scale of ER?

It's all about what titters the sense of the power brokers who, for the most part, are men -- either straight or playing straight in many cases.

I'm still more concerned about the children than anything.

</font>[/QUOTE]i seem to recall some kissing on w&g, but queer as folk pulls no punches in its depiction of male on male sexual stuff, funny though the only stable relationship on the show is the lesbian couple.

I barely watch the tv anymore, so I'm a little clueless...

where or how is the girl-on-girl thing becoming more prominent? I channel-surfed by one of those ET-like shows last night (I think) and I think they were about to show something about some advertisers who are now showing women wrestling or fighting or something. Is that what the theme of this thread is in part referring to?

Even on pluggers for parties, not just the lesbi - chic syndrome I'm talking about the need to be sleezy thing altogether. For me I'm like enough already. I aint buyin' no beer just because they've got girls cat-fighting or going to a party because you've got pictures of girls kissing and hugging.. I'd be thinking that it's a girl party and they wouldn't be interested in partying with men anyways. It's like the'I can't sing but I've got nice boobs and nice abs???? Huh!!! What else ya got???

Yeah you have to watch out for commericals. My eight year old son knows why to much for his age. I am driving talking to my sister about her newborn and she talking about that she wasn't having another one. He comes out and says I am not going to get anyone pregant because I am going to use protection. I turned around asked him were he learned that from he said I see the commericals. This had me in shock.

well...I've seen the show before (three times I think) and wasn't quite sure what lifestyle it was portraying. It seemed more like a soap opera to me with the twist of having gay male sex depicted very umm...in your face so to speak.

I remember giving a my sister and her 3 year old daughter a ride once and we were listening to the radio. Before the tune could even get good and started, my little niece was in the back seat nodding her head and saying "get your freak on...get your freak on". Guess she was a fan of Missy.

I think TV particularly has become literally painful. I just can't watch it. The images, the cheaply produced "reality" shows, the snarling political pundits, the 6packAbs commercials, the GirlsGoneBad commercials and on and on and on...it's all sickening. Is this what we are demanding to see? Is the media simply responding to a demand or are they creating one?

99.9% of the kissing on W&G is hetero kissing.

I hear you about the sleaze factor, though. It's out of control. I'm a little put off by the fact that when folks start talking about the sleaze factor, they immediately ping on homosexuals, as though that is, in itself, sleazy. I'm sure many folks feel that way, but I disagree. As I said, I'm far more put off by depiction of young teens having sex, sneaking out to raves and doing drugs and alcohol.

Typically, humans need bigger and bigger thrills as they become desensitized to one thing or another. "Fear Factor" should be called "Disgusting Factor" in my opinion. People going on TV to find a "mate" and ending up sleeping with 6-7 people (it's not graphic, but implied). Murder as an interpersonal skill. Greed is good????

Do you know most cops never fire their weapon in the line of duty during their entire career? You would never know that from TV or movies.

As far as QaF is concern, yes, it is quite graphic, as is OZ. I don't think I'd use the word "atrocious," but it is graphic. But then again, that's pay TV. It's not just floating through the airways.
