N'Dambi - Call Me (Yam Who Rmx) (White)

Antonio Ocasio - Amazonia (Corazon de Brasil) (Tribal Winds)

Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra - Che Che Cole/Makossa (Daptone)

Essential Soul prod. by GU - Come On (Wave)

Plus about 6 of the NEW salsoul releases on Salsoul '03:

First Choice - Let no man put asunder (shep pettibone and Frankie knuckles remix)

Leroy Burgess - Heartbreaker/Heavenly

Double Exposure - Ten Percent (Tom Moulton and MAW remix)

And a few others that I cannot remember. Boy it's nice to have these on 12" with those mixes as well. Dodgy 80's throwback sleeves, but the music speaks for itself. There looks to be about 20 or 30 re-releases coming from these guys - some london bods? not as nice as owning an original salsoul, but hey...

Plus I passed on the Yam Who/Pharrel Williams! It was damn fine, but just a bit too hip-hop for my tastes - something in his voice - don't kill me steve!

You can buy the 100 birds thing on the wave website, but I've no Idea when it's getting distributed. Forgot to listen to the soundbite!

Didn't see it in london anywhere, and i went all over... Listened to the VJ's recommendations, but most were middle of the line. The Jah Works thing was OK. The 4 Siders Sol Y Mas was superb as was underground Vol 1 (detroit), but hey, you can't buy everything!

The Yam Who mix is great, not such a great pressing as say the Raphael Sadiq which is just lush as hell, but still nice - good shopping

33 1/3 Queen - 6-track EP (Nu Groove 053, UK)
MAW Unreleased - Elements of Life (dub) / Ekabo (MAW, US)

Is this UK Nu Groove re-issue legit? It has the catalog number and everything. The cut 'Disco 4' on here is a scorcher and it used to be my college radio show theme music . 'Ekabo' is a cut, too.

"Love of the music should be the driving force of any producer, performer or DJ. Everything else stems from that core, that love. With that love, sampling can become a tribute; An expansion on ideas long forgotten, reconstruction, collage. Using the same understanding openly and respectfully can turn DJing into a spiritual participation. It can turn a few hours of selection into essential history; Necessary listening through movement."
