DHP Chicago | Larry Heard | The Shrine Friday Feb 26

"There are Web-based communities with members who should probably never meet in the real world, but for the regulars at DeepHousePage.com, getting together is essential. Inspired by and largely concerned with the legendary club-scene eras in Chicago and New York, the site maintains forums for discussion of house and disco parties long past, hypes upcoming events, posts rare original flyers from events at the Bismarck Pavilion and A.K.A., and highlights interviews with the likes of Chip E. and Craig Alexander. Members can also link to their own DJ mixes. The most potent feature is the library of mixes that DHP maintains: One can stream a Tony Humphries mix from 1982 or a Larry Heard set from last year. -By John Dugan, TimeOut Chicago"

Join us as we unite under one house for another session of deep musical bliss featuring deehousepage's Torin Edmond and special guest, the Legendary Larry Heard aka Mr. Fingers

hosted by Larissa J. and Torin Edmond!

    Torin Edmond

Torin is an administrator for what is arguably the most respected house music website in the world, deephousepage.com.

Growing up in Chicago, Torin was influenced by the city’s legendary House music scene. Beginning as a DJ in the early eighties, Torin was introduced to House Music in its infancy, absorbing the rhythm and the groove that dominated Chicago dance culture. Reflecting on the early days, “I was definitely influenced by DJ’s and Producers like Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Lil Louis and Steve “Silk” Hurley.” Torin has produced events throughout the Chicago area for more than a decade. In addition to his live sets, his mixes can be heard on the web at www.deephousepage.com.

    Larry Heard (Mr. Fingers)

His musical influence can be heard in the songs of countless artists.

For those who appreciate warm and passionate compositions and lyrics, Larry´s music is pure magic. Larry has been blessed with a unique gift that sends listeners into a blissful euphoric state. One of his first releases in 1986 was a collaboration with singer Robert Owens, released under the group name "Fingers Inc.". The song "Mystery of Love" instantly became a classic hit, rising to ..10 on the Billboard Dance charts.

1988 saw the release of the beautiful & groundbreaking double album entitled "Another Side", showcasing the unstoppable talents of Larry, Robert, and vocalist Ron Wilson. Since then, he has released several dance/r&b/ambient albums that have kept fans satisfied while gaining waves of new listeners.

Recent releases like "Loosefingers" are a stunning testament to his artistic integrity. Never one to sacrifice expression for economic awards, Larry continues to retain his unique and inviting sound. For us who have heard his voice and music, we wouldn´t have it any other way!
