Sometimes I want to cry out, "It's about originality, stupid."

Perhaps even mail them a dictionary so they may expand their knowledge of other words.

To tag a name in this manner is disgraceful and does the whole dance movement harm.

The sad part is they do it in your face and think its ok.

Yeah I sent Robbi and the crew an e-mail.....I guess they'd be a bit pissed off but I don't think there is much they can do. Its probably best to just to ignore this party and try to laugh at it.

I just find it typical of the UK scene and that hurts me more than anything else. And I feel somewhat insulted that they would try to promote this party to people like us who clearly know what the name The Shelter really means...

FYI - If the issue here is, are they violating any copyright or infringing on intellectual property - the answer is flat out NO.

Club Shelter NYC has NO official copyright on the Shelter name OR 3-triangle logo (which is the official FALLOUT SHELTER/BOMB SHELTER insignia.)

In my opinion - they are just using the brand name since it is such a highly regarded CLUB name in the nightclub world.

There is a SHELTER in Detroit as well as several other Club Shelters that I know of around the world.

I think Body & Soul had a similar problem some time ago and managed to successfully / out of court have them stop using the name (this was in San Diego, California I believe - somebody tried to call their party - Body & Soul)

I believe that John Davis & Francois Kevorkian own the trademark and copyright to BODY & SOUL Nightclub. That is what Club Shelter would need to try and litigate against anybody infringing on their name.
