Are you kidding me? Leroy tore it up with the chunky but funky girl in his audition for the School of the Arts in the movie. *cueing up* 'Red Light' I work so hard to get me a man...don't try to take him away...I love my man like nobody can...don't try or you're gonna pay...you've been too close...you've been going to far...who do you think you are..."

Plus, ReRun couldn't rock poom poom shorhts like Leroy. His legs were sick. Isolations coming outta nowhere.
Dance as if nobody's watching you...and if they are...so what?

Used to trip me out some of the music that they had Rerun dance to on What's Happening. ALL that good 70's soul funk at the time and they would play some sorry whack bs for him to dance to on the show.

Clearance issues....meaning they would have to spend mad loot to pay royalities for the use of a tune.

No excuse for not getting a decent cut from a fledgling band. It was more like the producers idea of what real funk sounded like. Did they even have to clear samples back then?

I love the scene where he's giving dance lessons, at Rob's place. The cut that's playing is 'Get up, Get Down, Get funky, Get Loose'- Teddy P.

I knew Rerun had died but didn't know gene anthony ray did too - and only a few weeks after Rerun!

...In June 2003, Ray suffered a stroke and ultimately died from complications of the stroke on November 14, 2003 in Manhattan, New York. He was 41 years old and HIV positive at the time of his death.

...Fred Rerun Berry died on October 21, 2003, at his Los Angeles home where he was recovering from a stroke.
