Ok, what did you improve since the beginning of this DF Q&A?

I've been very challenged by the fact that technical sound science english is not my native language, but I did work on a 8 bars loop copied 30 times.

That has been a new and creative way, since I've always been working my breaks on this loop while creating new drum patterns A1-A2-A3...

Also, the mono thing about synths, bass, I never knew mono was still used and why it should have. Very interesting indeed and my mixes are sounding better.

What enhancements did you felt in your works?

I've been wrapped up in my wedding planning, so I haven't been able to get in to the studio much since this dropped... but there's so much in there I'm ready to try.

I want to change up the lighting for when I have vocalists in! Along that tip I want to try working with a vocalist with only the keys and and a click.

Do you mean you will not let an sound engineer master your works, or is it something that the producer should work on for each of his tracks?

I know there's a minimum to do, but is it something you seek as a sound perfectionnist, or is it due to lack of money for pro mastering, or is it essential to any producer, or even something else?

Gain staging and mixing down is not mastering I leave that to the pro's
But to get a good master the mixdown has to he good to start with

I have been layering alot of samples to try and get a nice thumping kick but this is a great little hint!

I still gotta try getting the bassline and kick to complement each other real nice by turning everything down low, I have a feeling that is a hot fucking tip but havent had a moment to test it out...

and also dennis confirming what ive always suspected that compression is hyped up way too much.

man, so many things. keeping the volume real low when doing the mix is something I've never tried. lot of good advice on recording vocals as well. can't wait to try it all out. been rearranging the stuio and just had a baby. so, haven't had time to do squat lately.

Thanks!...and yeah, that sounds familier...recently sold off a Juno106, a JD800, and a few other random pieces of kit.

yeah that listening very quietly tip is a great one, ive heard that before but its great to hear its used across the board. its always so tempting to smash it out though isit it!
