Hey Mr. Ferrer, how are you first of all? My question is, when mixing down to final stereo track, do you sometimes listen to a mastered project already done, to get mix levels to match? And if so, what song(s) do you recommend as a good reference track(s)?

I think that's the best thing you can do. Find a record you feel translates well and try to get close to it. That's the way you learn.

Just when you think you find a record that's amazing sounding though.....someone comes out with another that blows your mind. A recommendation here would be dated in about 6 months at the rate producers are learning though so all i can say is ask around or you'll know when that tune comes on in the club and everything else sounds like crap compared to it. lol
