    Dear confused,

That's because you have your foot on the brake pedal for 15 minutes while warming up the Studebaker.

    Dear Car Guy,

My car is 9.5 years old (purchased in July 2001), and has 77,000 miles on it

    ... in the 1st 2 years, I put 60K miles on it

... in the last 7.5 years, I've only put 17K miles on it

I'm wondering if I have reached Grandma Status, with regards to driving?

Had something similar happen to me but it was a little sophistry that a service tech tried and failed. I was sitting in my car listening to the radio waiting for class. I kept starting the car to keep the battery charged. When I got out of class I went to the gas station and the car would not restart. I just got the car and it was under warranty so I wasn't worried, it was just that I only had the car for 2 months and it was a certified vehicle. I called and talked to this one service tech named Chip. I told him the story and he said well it looks like you will have to buy another battery and I said not on a certified vehicle that I have only had for 2 months. We went back and forth with this and I eventually got the battery for free and Chip was not happy, especially after he told me that the alternator doesn't charge the battery. I paused for a long time in amazement and I asked "can I quote you on that Chip" and he said yes, with confidence. After looking up the alternating system and restoring my own personal sanity I was done with Chip for sure.

Also the term of a certified vehicle are real misleading like if they do a test on the battery at the time of certification and it meets their standards they don't have to replace it which leaves the buyer with unforeseeable situations

Cool man will ask when I come across something else
    thnx bro

you were pretty manly for the first two years, but now you may as well be asking us what color panties you should wear on your dates.

now, please run to the nearest man card drop box and drop your card in. thanks for your cooperation.
