    Kate Bush

I've been on a big Kate Bush binge of late. She's obviously ace, but did she get much play in clubs in the US? Some of the Hounds of Love era stuff is similar to, say, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts or Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

I remember Running Up That Hill getting some play.

I had this sort of thing in mind:

But fuck it, what are folks' favourite Kate Bush songs?

I hadn't thought of that. Perhaps she isn't very well known stateside?

Here's one for the Russkis to rage about:

Anyway, if you don't know her, the Hounds of Love LP is the obvious place to start. Here's the title track (with what, strangely, looks like Don Draper in the video):

Haha! It doesn't sound so good if you hear it as being about your gran.

Oh yeah, her original of "This Woman's Work" is ace. The video's great, too -- with Lord Percy from Blackadder.

"Watching You With Me" reminds me of Tin Drum era Japan. Must be the bass, played by Pentangle's Danny Thompson.

i've been loving kate for 20+ years. running up that hill is a classic album to say the least.

i wish she would travel to this side of the pond for some shows. she'd be worth a few hours in the car.

if you are a fan of tori amos, you'd dig kate bush. i love tori, but i think kate is what tori is trying to be.

Her most recent LP, Aerial, is great too. Particularly the second half. Here's a highlight (about a washing machine) of the first half:
