This is what my take is on this. If the police were gonna arrest my brother for drug dealing and I try to stand in front of my brother to stop them from arresting him. That would be obstructing justice. I may be wrong on this one.

it seems to me as if they're allying themselves with the enemy. which is treason. whatever you think of the war you still can't go and join up with the enemy if they come back they'll prolly get tried for treason.

I don't think Iraq is legally considered "the enemy" until war has been declared, which it may never be, whether we bomb or not. I don't think those human sheild folks have done anything illegal up to this point.

the war itself is gonna be illegal if the UN Security council doesn't legalize it. And it looks like it's going that way

I'm sorry the UN is a joke now. They can prevent war, by demanding Irag give up weapons of mass destruction.

No one can prevent war..The decision has already been taken a long time ago..If you think this has anything to do with weapon inspections, I believe you're missing the point.. This is all just a facade. So of course the UN is a joke. The US wants to have Saddam out,and every pretext is a good one..The UN is powerless, and it's not gonna keep the US from attacking.. Do you honestly believe Saddam has real weapons of mass destruction in his country? Let me say this : why, if the US is so certain about this fact, doesn't it show the weapon inspectors where it has to look ? Why aren't Blix & Barradei taken to the CIA headquarters and told where they have to look ? The UN inspection team didn't found A SINGLE CLUE proving Irak still has these kind of weapons.

I don't know about the prosecution thing, I do think that if it comes to it and they are actually in the way of some serious mission the US troops will snatch their asses and remove them from any blocking they are trying to do. They might get shot point blank and dealt with later. That is some dangerous shit to be doing, they don't know if the Iraqi troops will capture them and torture them just for being foreigners. If that were to happen who would they call to rescue them since they put themselves in harms way. Human shield my ass, those rifles will shoot right through them and hit whoever is behind them. I think that they will get blown to hell with everybody else if it comes down to it and the government will just throw some money at their families and be done with it. All is fair in love and war. You mean "If" they return!!! Fifty Iraqi fighter ar holed up in an abandoned building and two human shields are in there with them, "Oh let's not bomb the building" yeah right they better be ready to die cause they aint gonna stop nothin'

The difference is...we are not "the police," and Iraq is not a criminal. Tell me...what laws have they broke?

You don't just 'move thangs around'. The US has the most advanced intelligence technology in the world - radiation detectors that can find radioactive signatures from miles away, reconnaissance flights, the ability to listen in on all electronic communications, hell, we even have satellites that can read a matchbox from space. If he really had any 'weapons of mass destruction', we would sure as hell know about it. This nonsense about 'mobile bioweapons labs' is just that: nonsense. Creating these weapons takes a HUGE industrial facility, and current technology, neither of which Saddam has, mainly because we BLEW IT ALL UP in the first Gulf war and in the 12 years since...

whether the WAR is legal or not is not the issue. the issue is when USA goes to war against iraq no u.s. citizen can be over there providing support for iraq. if back in the 60's protestors had flown over to vietnam and stood infront of vietnamese targest they would've been blown up or arrested.

    No...nobody else does, actually.

The "human shields" are willing to die for something they believe in (weren't you praising this in another thread?) They beleve in peace, not in Iraq...which makes them braver and strongert than any soldier.

If they are not providing material aid to the Iraq army...what laws are they breaking?

america IS the world police. you follow their laws, or you get nailed. and if the UN doesn't back them, they'll go it alone. but they won't subject their citizens and soldiers to international war crimes legislation and they certainly won't charge anyone in camp xray without letting them cool off for a few years.

With respect, from your posts it seems you have taken the official US Gov. line on Iraq as gospel. You have Saddam 'moving' around his huge w.o.m.d. arsenal and keeping it from the hapless inspectors, waiting til he can launch an attack on the innocent, while the whole world loses patience for this badboy to bendover. Meanwhile anyone who believes that this war is morally wrong, and does whatevers left in their power to stop it (lets face it, demostrating at home is ignored) is a criminal.

This is NOT the humanitarian matter the US/UK governments are painting it - GOOD Vs EVIL. If we are so concerned with human rights abuse there are plenty of other instances around the world that we are conveniently ignoring. No, this is just another attempt by the US to mop up more disasterous foreign policy of the past, and grab a healthy control over resourses to boot. When Iran was the bad guy, the US thought it had an ally in Iraq and supplied the weapons we're now so threatened by.

It is a mastersroke of 'spin' that the US has managed to steer the backlash to the terrible events of 9/11 towards this Iraq stituation. Please ask yourself, what is it that YOU want out of this war? Revenge for 9/11? Do you feel that Saddam Hussein is a true threat to the world? What is driving you to form your opinions of Iraq? Can you believe everything you get from the media coverage?

Please don't think the rest of the world wants the war that's about to kick off, we don't. However the US government trade/aid policies can buy a lot of silence.

Indeed, this whole Iraq is a world threat propaganda should be obvious even to the most dimwitted US Citizens.

I'm guessing 70% of the US citizens don't even know where Iraq is situated, and now suddenly a majority wants to see it destroyed and its bad leader captured and/or killed.

The Star Wars styled US foreign policy is a complete joke, but sadly enough it isn't a funny one...

Who made your mad adminisration the Police in this scenario? No wonder the US has an image problem, you automatically think that you're a global police force. You're not wanted in this role, please don't assume it is your right to be a policeman for the rest of the world!

These are testing times for our US brothers and sisters, a time when the rest of the world, the world outside the DHP, see you as the enemy, not just muslims, but people in europe too..
