That jacket takes me back to putting tennis balls or sneakers in the dryer with your coat to 'beat down the down'. Oh Lawd...I am OLD.

Mike, the 116th St and Lenox Ave station is the 2 & 3 train. The 116th St. 1 train station is at Broadway by Columbia U.

Regardless, the history you give us is priceless!

My all time fave store was Phil Kronfeld, which was on 49th & Broadway. They always had one of a kind gear no one else had. Leighton's was more popular, because it was more visible at 47th & Broadway. They had nice gear too, but Kronfeld was better in my opinion. Also Reval Knox, Ideal & Regents out our way in Jamaica & Green Acres Mall. Loved Lefcourt Shoes on Madison Ave too! Guiseppe Uomo, Dolce Vita, Cellini Uomo, Daniels Leathers & Rita's Leather on Orchard can't be forgotten either. Carl's now long gone on Orchard was a staple as well as Howard's which was all over. We used to get pants custom made from a Black tailor named Mr Brown around the corner on Allen St. Buy material at Beckensteins, get measured by Mr Brown & he would make them like you wanted for $33. Put on any type of pocket flaps too!

Jcapeverde, Reval Knox and Lee(The Chinese cat who used to sell wears at the spot by Woolworths on Jamaica ave, During the 70's/80's, Used to have nice wears in they're spots, Though, Reveal Knox was more upscale and expensive than Lee's spot, Which was

Mad grimy to the core, In regards to the type of cats who shopped at Lee's spot, During the 70's/80's, My man/LOL, Jcapeverde, I was not up on Phil Kronfelds and Leightons like that, Because, I was more into shopping for wears on D-St, Aj Lester's, Reval Knox and

Mr.Lee's spot on Jamaica, Ave, During the 70's, My man, Jcapeverde, Do you you remember a spot for shoes located on 55thst and Lexington ave, During the mid 70's to mid 80's, That featured very expensive italian shoes for 100-300 dollars, My man(I cannot remember the name of the spot, Right about now, My man).
