It comes from someone that you think is fine as well or does it matter. The reason I ask is that one of my boys got a compliment from a lady that he didn't consider attractive. He said "She aint fine so it don't count". I thought that was not cool at all. But deep down inside I had to look at myself and ask how I feel when this happens. When a sister that I consider to be gorgeous compliments me on my appearance it makes me blush a bit more than when someone that I'm not attracted to says the same thing. Then depending on how they say it makes a differnce too. Older women make me blush
when they say certain things as well. I'm just wondering why it should matter to me because it's all flattering

I appreciate all comments from any woman.I do not get noticed often. If I do,it's by older women.Ya guy is just shallow as hell Rich. What if he complimented a sister and she flipped that shit on him....to his face?Dude would be hurt or if he is really weak, cuss her out and call her a bitch,or may even be ready to fight.

Hell,I ask for sexual harassment here at work.I like attention....

It is all flattering. Though I'll agree that if someone I find attractive finds me attractive too I blush a little deeper. If someone I don't find as attractive compliments me, I try to keep in mind that just because I don't find them as attractive doesn't mean they don't have good taste.

i honestly cannot believe myself lately...i'm actually taking offense to any girl complimenting me on the way i look. but yo, it's not the compliment but the lack of desire to appreciate one's character.

when i hear the "you're cute, you're cute" business i hold back sometimes but shit, i'm this close to saying "yo man, quit that...dig a little."

i'm ****ing losing all sense.

i can't appreciate the entirely vain ones. key word "entirely".

i mean it's flattering but it doesn't do anything to aknowledge the "myself".

i just can't.

You know I personally know someone like this, as old as he is. And to tell you the truth he ain't flawless, he has a few flaws but dresses nice and keeps up his appearance. He mentioned that he is more flattered when a fine woman compliments him because all ugly women will think any man is attractive. How shallow.

Yes, it's about being shallow, but I think all of this stems from insecurities from within. He feel he isn't attractive enough unless an attractive comes to him and tell him what he wants to hear. If an ugly woman (unattractive) compliments him then he feels that he isn't nice looking after all. Trust me when that time comes for a drop dead gorgeous woman wants him.....he will worship the ground she walks on because he will not believe that he was able to attract a woman that fine.

Shallow People like this want to attract what they think they are ;) And to answer your question a compliment is a compliment. When you don't get any compliments, then you should wonder.

Yeah I think that it's f---ed up when a person thinks that another person's compliment is more meaningful based on the complimentors' appearance, like a less attractive person can't see or their taste is invalid. A compliment is a compliment. But damn when I did a self inventory and found myself to have been guilty of the same thoughts it made me think long and hard. I really consider myself to be humble and appreciating of most things. Shallow is something that I try not to be, but I do sometimes get all giddy when a cute girl is checking me out as opposed to someone that I don't find as attractive. I really welcome a compliment from anybody, it just makes you feel good. I need to check myself but can't lie to myself. Thank for the response.
Peace

Be happy that you are cute enough to get the attention. Nobody can see what you look like on the inside until you show them. Maybe not everyone who compliments your appearance is as superficial as you might think, and would apreciate your true "self" as well.
