A dream cam true for me last night

So last night i was in the city having some cocktails with some friends,on a whim we decided to go to sugar bar ashford and simpson's place. We were a bit tipsy and before i knew it i signed up for open mike night.Everyone that knows me,is familiar with my admiration for Ashford and simpson. My turn came up,the sweat was pouring and nerves set in,i had decided i was gonna do clouds by chaka khan. The guy on the piano looked towards a woman in the audience and said something.I couldnt tell who she was because the glare from the lights were bright. She came towards the stage and it was Valerie Simpson. She played the keyboard,i thought i was gonna die.I fucked the song up totally, she told me to relax i regrouped myself, but went with I'm every woman lol. When i finished the song she said that is the first time she has heard a man sing i'm every woman and it was actually semi in key lol.Now if i die tommorow i can actually say,i got a chance to perform with valorie simpson.

    Nice.

Now I know where I'm taking my next date or the next place where I go looking for a date. If nothing else, it sounds like a good place to do karoke and Soul Music friendly as well (it's amazing how hard it is to find a karoke place in NYC that's Soul Music friendly).

Wait a minute, I think I have been there. But probably at least 15 years ago. Between Broadway and West End, right?
