Who was your favorite Live performance at the Paradise Garage?

I was reflecting yesterday through my musical experiances and came acoss the time I went to the Paradise Garage and saw Grace Jones performing.This had to be one to best shows amoung many that this sacred place had offered us.Share with us your favorite performace if your memory serves.

Weirdly I have to say Revelation it was a Record Pool party (For the Record?) on a weekday at that and the had a full band and they smashed it. Close second to Unlimited Touch also full band

Hands down for me would be Grace Jones when she performed 'Slave to the Rhythm' the first time. Then there was that Easter Sunday morning when Sylvester performed, and I thought I saw Satan. But that's a whole nother story....

The Colonel and Cheryl Lynn we're the two best performanaces at the Garage for me, The Colonel stepped on stage at 6:00am on a Saturday morning on January of 1986, Singing close to 6-8 songs(Which was my last time going to the Garage), The Colonel

Sang, 'Release The Tension', Last(Money tried to walk off stage like the show was over, And, Mad cats wanted The Colonel to sing, 'Release the Tension', Before leaving the Stage/LOL), Cheryl Lynn's performance was just as good as the Colonel's, Especially when

Cheryl Lynn performed, 'Starlite', And, 'You saved my day', Cheryl Lynn's performance was in 1984, On the low, I was not down for any live performances by anyone in a spot, Why, Because, It took me away from pushin-up caligulia hard on a young lady on the Dance floor(Or behind a speaker, Or in a very dark area of a spot/LOL).

Yes...that night was somthing..The lights..and the way she came out on that stage was absolut bliss !

Hugh Masekela with full band; sang "Coal Train" with the lights off and the curtain drawn. Then burned the house down with "Don't Go Lose It Baby"... What a night!

Sammy, Maybe, Ray or Timmy Richardson can confirm if Willie Colon('Set Fire on me', Fame In 1986), Performed at the Garage, Because, I did not like to go to spots when a performance was scheduled to take place(For reasons that i stated in an earlier thread, My man/LOL).

Syreeta Wright, Jennifer Holliday, Liz Torres, Ms Grace Jones, Two Tons of Fun, Gwen Guthrie, Patti LaBelle, Sylvester & Keith Barrow to name a couple! There were so many nice performances at PG that I thought it would never end.

It was Easter Sunday morning, I think 1983, It was Keith Barrows (Tell me this is heaven) and the legendary Phylis Hyman, she sang, As you are, Betcha my golly wow, and you know how to love me.

They next year, Easter Sunday morning 1984 they had no other than Ms Whitney Huston, she sung, "Saving all my love for you, and You give good love. She had very short hair and wore a sweat suit.

I was truly blessed to see show many shows at Garage from Hugh Masakeela to Tramine Hawkings to Rebe Jackson. Memories!!!

Wow Dawn, I was there that night that Syreeta Wright got up on that stage and sang, Can't shake your love. I was at every show that you just mentioned. You got to be grown!!!!
