these sound good, but why not include the original with the release, so youngnz can get schooled and have the option of playing the throwback?

Actually, the original never saw the light of day, or a pressing. The version that Ron Hardy began playing had slightly rougher (but better IMO) production, and didn't have the rap in it.

Actually that version was recently released on wax:

Not sure what the sound quality is like, however.

I suppose I was speaking of the version we all heard in clubs back in the day

I just always appreciate it when remix releases of old joints take the the time to include the original on the B-side, since a lot of that stuff was hard to come by for many years and I would prefer all DJs know from whence their shit came

Agreed, especially if the newer pressings could mean a cleaner, louder sound.

I'll try, but I am strongly partial to the Ron Hardy mix (stripped down to that deep, elastic bassline, and Robert's haunting voice -- shit gets me amped way up)

I hear you Mike. I loved the Ron Mix as well I can remember when I first Heard the tune at the Box when Ron played it. I whish I could have put the original mix out, but due to other issues that were out of my control I just couldn't do it.

Thanks to Chip E for giving me the opportunity to put this out.

This is the version I have as well. Very raw sound. Been thinking about
killing the clasp as they are very up front and loud.
