Hmmmmmmmmmm

Alot of these folks do suck, like...

Boo-Ya Tribe? No problem.
Puffy? Obviously. Probably the worst rapper EVER.
Trick Daddy? Sure.
Mello Man Ace. Yup.
Many more too

But...

Some of these dudes have made a real contribution to this thing we call hip hop, some for their flow, some for their subject matter, some for their just straight-up "out there" style, etc. IMO, none of them can top somebody like Rakim, but none of them would ever claim such nonsense. I do believe hip hop has gotten big enough to encompass many diffrenet types of flow, types of humor, etc.

Wu-Tang. Meth has crazy skills and crazy humor. Genius is still making amazing records. Have you heard that joint "fame" where he makes a whole song out of people's names? It's ill. Ghostface too. Some of them are kind "ehn" but whatever.

Q-Tip. Not the tightest flow but he brought a whole new realm of abstractness to hip hop. And you can't front on gems like "Sucka Nigga"

Ludicris. That kid is on some next shit. Listen to his album and you'll see what I mean. His flow is bananas.

Redman. He's dope just for the bug-out factor alone, not to mention some classic joints he's made. And in his own words "I never claimed to be the best type a rapper, I have ta', show a mutha fucca whut I'm afta!"

Snoop. Yeah, his delivery is kinda lazy, but that's also his charm. He's definitely shined on some joints, like "The Shiznit" for example. Plus, he's just such a character, which is part of being a super-star. Rakim had it. Busy-Bee had it. Big L might have been amazing but did he have that extra something that would make him a super-star? I'm not so sure.

In short, it takes all kinds...

and y'all can take Too Short off the list too. He isn't the best hip hop artist in terms of technique, but back in 84'-86' he was one of the only people doin' that style and talkin' that shit.

I feel you on this. I REALLY dig ludacris for some reason. He makes me laugh and I enjoy myself thoroughly when listening to his music.

Booooooooo.

What Biggie lacked in complex delivery, he made up for in sheer heart. His rhymes were so damn ghetto, yet had a sense of tragedy and despair that few others have matched. It's hard to define, but I really do think he was amazing.

I don't know which standards you set, but IMO and from a pure love for hiphop POV, and maybe a bit influenced by the fact that I'm a European and thus try to be a bit neutral in this subject, but I like these rappers on your lists;
_Snoop: (he got his own flow, and one of the coolest voices ever...)
_Biggie: (He got mad skills, one raw mofo!)
_Wu-Tang Clan: You got to be kidding me, the first Wu-Tang album is still a classic, one of the best combinations of killer beats and hardcore rhymes ever...
_Q-Tip: Q has developed his own style and it's all good; you can't front on the old ATCQ stuff, and he was essential there...

I agree with most of your list, but Del is ****in nice with the delivery and his lyrics. No Need for Alarm is one of the underrated classics in hip-hop and his work with Dan tha Automater is not the same old same ol.

I agree with most of your list, Mike, but not all..

Too Short and Ludicrous have funny ass rhymes...their delivery ain't all that bad either bruh.

Big up to Snoop, Del, and Qtip as well!

Wu? Red? Come on man!

Dre got the voice..you gotta admit that.

And E40 is hilarious!

I won't sit here and list wack 'rappers'...there's too many to list...but don't discredit the above cats altogether. They all have SOMETHING-rhymes, delivery, voice!

Yo Mike, you forgot Hammer and his boy Too Big MC ha ha. Yo I would not put Wu, [that crew was nice except for U God Ghostface, Rae, Rza, ODB, Meth, Royal Fam, Capp etc...used to come off.], Q tip, Redman on that list. Or Ludicrious, I have seen him take out some cats that tried to test him. He came off in battle mode and was nice. Del was nice too. (Even Mace had some flow back in the days, thats why he was crew with Big L.)

I agree with most of your list except for the following:

Snoopy
Wu-Tang
Redman (even though I don't care about him)

You can't knock Snoop, he's the main flow master. Unless you're an East coast hatin' foo that can't handle the Left Coast rhythm.
