    Official Video Game Thread

it's about that time that we had one..

I know this is gonna be flooded with COD vs.Battlefield, but here's my input on something else so far. Gears of War 3, lot's of fun but not better than 1 or 2 in the multiplayer dept. Whether it's online or at home for self it's just not makin' it. The enemy AI is whack, and they made it way too easy to shotgun someone to death. Bring back Guardiannnnn...

I am probably in the minority in regards to FPS games. They are cool, but I really have to be in the mood for them. Having said that, here are the last 3 games I played that I really enjoyed:

    Dead Space 2
    Catherine
    Portal 2

Am now working through Batman: Arkham City.

Great month for games. Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Arkham City, MW3, Saints Row 3, Halo Anniversary. Not enough time.

I'm right there with you on that point. Part of the issue with me is the art style (typically 'post-apocalyptic'; designed to appeal to American teenage boys). I hate cookie-cutter formula games... and FPS are pretty bad in that regard. A few of them can be fun in short bursts though.

Checked out some of the Multi-Player gameplay for MW3 on Youtube and it's pretty much the same as MW2. One guy called it an expansion pack to MW2, considering Black Ops was more or less a departure from the Modern Warfare franchise.

I'm just a casual gamer and I still enjoy MW2 so I may pick up 3. I think Battlefield belongs on the PC not just because of the Graphics, but because of the scale of the game itself. It's not Quake Arena, you have to play a role and the maps are just too damn big to be running and gunning.

for the record I'm a third person fanatic, that's why I started off with Gears and can't wait for the next Ghost Recon.
I'm still gonna get MW3 cause I'm getting board.

Dead Space 2 is pretty tight. Just finished first playthrough of Deus Ex; Human Revolution...an awesome game with a very deep and though-provoking story about becoming both more and less than human.

Gonna get Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim next paycheck...been waiting for that game since I heard about it. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was cause for enjoyment for many, many hours.

I'm considering getting Batman:Arkham City and CoD:MW too. No intention of getting Saints Row 3rd...just not into it.

But, if anyone wants to get some co-op action going on, look me up on XBL for some Borderlands. Just finished first playthrough of that and it's a very fun shooter.

I don't know maybe because it's new, exciting and probably an excellent game to look forward to?

Yeah in 2013. What else from 2013 should we discuss?
