A masterpiece of music:The Glow of Love By Change(1980)

One of the very best songs that i have ever heard in my lifetime is, 'Glow of Love', By Change, Featuring the vocals of Luther Vandross(I miss this cats voice mad hard), I've never heard a cat run, 'Glow of Love', Without the whole

Crowd rockin and singing along to the lyric's of the plate, I've seen young ladies and cats cry on the dancefloor while, 'The Glow of love', Was being played(Very emotional plate for those who truely love dance music and having a very good time in a spot), My two favorite dance music plates featuring, Luther Vandross are, 'Glow of Love',

And, 'Superlady', From 1981, Which was vastly under-rated, Because of cats soupin up, 'Never too much', Which is a good plate, Though, Too me, 'Super Lady', Is a great plate(Especially for the dancefloor).

    Much Respect

agree 100% - "Glow of Love" has got to be one of my all-time faves, for sure.

That cover of Superstar/Until You Come Back To Me was also a truly stellar piece of work. I miss Luther sooooo much - his music changed the world for the better.

Agreed on the 'Glow of Love' impact. Next to 'House is not a home', I feel it's Luthers best vocal recording, ever.

    agreed it's an amazing song
but I must say I have never been fond of the way it was mixed - something kinda thin about it

feel you on "House..." but to me what he did with this Carpenters Song is unimaginable:

I'll go as far as saying that this goes on the list as one of the best albums ever. I love the production and the songs. The singing speaks for itself

One of my favorite childhood memories is this album and getting loose to it

    Thanks!

To Change's detractors, the studio group was nothing more than a poor man's Chic. But knowledgeable disco and R&B enthusiasts knew better; Change wasn't a carbon copy of Chic any more than jazz great Chet Baker was a clone of Miles Davis. Without question, Change was heavily influenced by the Nile Rodgers/Bernard Edwards sound; nonetheless, Change had an energy of its own, and anyone who seriously listened to its first album, The Glow of Love, could easily tell the difference between Chic and Change (just as serious jazz fans can tell the difference between Baker's trumpet playing and Davis'). Produced by Jacques Fred Petrus and arranged by David Romani and Paolo Gianolio, this 1980 debut is a disco/R&B masterpiece. The playful opener "A Lover's Holiday" is Change's best-known song, but the group is just as captivating on the sassy "It's a Girl's Affair" and the passionate "Angel in My Pocket." Meanwhile, Luther Vandross is featured on "Searching" and the dreamy, laid-back title song, which became a quiet storm favorite and demonstrates that not everything Change recorded was aimed at the dancefloor. In 1980, Vandross had yet to provide his first solo album, although many of the people who heard his performances on those two gems agreed that a solo career was inevitable; and sure enough, his first big solo hit, "Never Too Much," came out the following year. Excellent from start to finish, The Glow of Love is Change's most essential album.

The Glow of Love [Warner Bros./RFC, 1980]
"New and true and gay," this gold album confirms disco's continuing autonomy as a market and as a style. From the Rodgers-&-Edwards rip of "A Lover's Holiday" to the good ole Giorgio Moroder of "The End," here's the complete bag of tricks. Luther Vandross's best Teddy Pendergrass impression doesn't redeem the militantly escapist lyrics and probably isn't meant to. But "It's a Girl's Affair," sung by Jocelyn Shaw, is a softcore treat--and spell that "Girls'" on your next printing, please. B+

MarkB, I feel Miracles from 1981 was Change's best album, Though, Miracles did not get the attention and acclaim that, 'Glow of Love', Had attained in 1980 with Luther Vandross's vocals(Though, James Robinson was extremely talented replacing Luther Vandross in 1981 too, My man), MarkB, Pete, Luther Vandross(The old Luther Vandross who looked like he did on the album cover for, 'Never too much', In 1981/LOL), Used to hang at Bentley's(On occasion), When Bentley's first opened

In 1980(Nobody knew Luther Vandross back then except for cats in the music industry who knew Luther Vandross for session singing and the Ballantine beer jingles during the mid 70's), Luther Vandross used to hang at the downstairs bar with Deborah Cooper(Who was down with Change during the early to mid 80's), Frankie Crocker, Von Harper(BLS), And mad celebrites who used to front mad lovely at the downstairs bar at Bentley's during the early to mid 80's/LOL, MarkB, I've always

Felt the plate, 'Heaven of my life', By Change(Off of the Miracles album from 1981), Was right up there with the, 'Glow of Love', My man, MarkB, Another plate by Change that i felt was nice was, 'Don't wait another night', From 1983, My man, MarkB, If i remeber Correctly, Deborah Cooper's from Queens too, My man/LOL.

    Much Respect

Happened to play this song out last night.
I get goosebumps in several parts of this song but none stronger then when he sings "..happy we're so happy" Just so sweet in every way.
