Any Audi Owners on this board?

What do you think of the engineering. I am looking at a Q7...anybody have one of these?
If a person is too stupid to be a DJ, perhaps they are also too stupid to know that he was too stupid to be a DJ — that is, his stupidity protected him from an awareness of his own stupidity.

I drive an A5. Phenomenal car. I've had it a year and love it more every day. Go for it.

I'd snag an early-80s Audi Quattro if one became available to me!

    A5 is nice...really feelin' the S5 version.

The Q7 the original poster asked about is big with the suburban, mcmansion, stay at home soccer mom crowd, very much a woman's suburban car. My neighbor has an A6, oves it, the wife a Q7 but she has no clue about cars. Has no clue how to work anything in it.

It's really a drivers car. From the way all of the controls are angled towards the driver to the way it rides and handles (which is superb). The car is beautiful inside and out and is a blast to drive. It turns heads like crazy. I get compliments on it literally every day I drive it (particularly from ladies). It really has to be experienced for you to get where I'm coming from. I used to drive Nissans and Infiniti's (and am still a fan of them) and used to think people were crazy to spend the extra 10k to get a similar German car. After owning this car I fully understand why one would opt to spend the extra dough. It is worth it. When I decided to look for a new ride last year I decided no more SUV's (had an FX45) but wanted something with AWD because of the winters in Chicago. Looked at the Infiniti G37x coupe, BMW 335i and the A5. Decided to go with the A5 because it looked better, had the nicest interior and drove the best (all my opinion of course). Haven't regretted the decision even for a second.

Got a Black CPO 2008 3.2 with 9K on the odometer. The car had barely been driven at all.

S5's are sick. But I didn't really consider one because after owning the FX45 I wanted to get away from 8 cylinder engines. WAY too much gas.

Engineering?! If you talking German you probably better off asking is it over engineered. Audi always chasing BWW and MB but I feel they offer better value dollar wise than both and in many cases better product.

I don't think engineering will sway your choice if comparison was BMW or MB. Think more practical. I assume you know what they run but if not buying new or cert pre owned and you gotta keep in mind the cost to service if it will be out of warranty in a year or two if buying used. All 3 makes do 4/50 new one may offer perks on some services or oil changes and different dealers may also offer incentives on service.

Will you or the wife be primarily driving it? Will it be to big for her? To much tech? If to big look at the Q5 as well. Smaller version. Comes in 4 banger , 4 with turbo and also a 6 thats not far from power than the Q7. Oddly the price used is on par with used 7's. Either way you in for 40k so I would peep and heavily test drive anything that compares.

If you set on the Q peep out a forum and dig. I find even enthusiast forums will in addition to showing how they love said vehicle they will also give the dirt as well. If you looking for premium in this segment check the Infinity X35 too. Haven't peeped the new ones but the exhaust note on the old models alone was enough to get me. Peeps either love or hate the styling but it works for me. Good luck.

Have owned 2 A4's both diesel and both blew up on me. It was a known older with older A4 diesels. Sadly I only found out after having 2 die on me

Other than that they are very good cars, very well made and a lot cheaper than BMW's and Merc's.

I currently drive a BMW and will go back to Audi's one day and it will be an RS4
